I have a 92 4.3 and i popped the original engine .. so i put in a rebuild and it overheats.. i changed the thermostat, waterpump , and clutch fan ..

Is there any ideas on what it could be or how to test it ????

Its not a Jasper is it? those engines are notorious for overheating.

Ok .. it is not a jasper...

I had the engine idle for 15mins. and it was fine but as soon as i went on the road with it it heats up .. within 2 kms ..

The rad is the only thing left to change.. but i wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas

Thanks

as long as the thermostat it opening correctly, and the fan is turning on, i would definatly be looking at the rad. when was the last time it was flushed? might need to have it pulled and a tank pulled off and core rodded out. may just be able to flush it out as well
