This project already has alot complete so Ill try to get this thread up to pace with the truck. The truck started out as a 91 longbed with a 2.8 5 spd, it has about 150k on the clock. When I started it was pretty solid, especially for a truck in this area. I dont have any before pics, all the ones I took of it before were Polaroid. I started on this truck when I was 13 with plans to be done when I was 16; however, as I got older and started getting more into it I decided to change the plans. We took the chassis down to nothing and I scraped all the undercoating off and wirewheeled and sand blasted the chassis. I used a cheap enamel paint on everything. I replaced all the suspension components with lifetime parts from the local parts store. I rebuilt the 2.8, dropped way to much cash and time into it.

Then I decided I wanted more power so my dad and I tossed around engine ideas, I chose to go with a buick 4.1 and do a GN turbo setup on it. After researching we figured the old small block swap would be the best idea for what I plan to do with the truck. So I will start the thread off here.

Heres a list of what I have done;

Took chassis completly down, sand blasted it and all the suspension components,
I sprayed everything with a coast of epoxy primer, then urethane prime, and used a gloss black enamel for the base coat,
The parts I could fit in my oven I powdercoated black,
I am using all poly urethane bushings,
2" Beltech drop spindles,
3" Beltech drop leafs,
Toxic lowering shocks,
All bolts are stainless steel, I probabbly have over $1000 dollars in stainless hardware so far.

I will get into more detail as I get pics on here, but heres the basic idea os the truck, dropped, completely shaved, stockish interior, single 10" blowthrough, 350 crate engine, tci th400, ford 8.8 with discs, vette c5s.

Ill get some pics on here tommrow, I have some from when I was building my 2.8.

Yeah I know, I still regret not going through with it. Atleast I still have the engine sitting in the corner waiting for another prject. There is a guy on a Buick forum who has a 1st gen with a gn engine in it, it's a sleeper.

Engine, trans

Fitting engine, trans in chassis and cab,

Notch in chassis for exhaust,

Chassis being preped,

Shaved body lines,

You can see where I cut out in my bed for my blow through.

Floor pan, firewall,

In that pic of the firewall I did not use a tarp to mask the windshield off; there is paper under it. I just put it there to cover the doors.

This weekend I would like to powdercoat my heater box black, exhaust manifolds high temp grey, and hopefully get my stainless steel fuel and brake lines ran. Another member told me about line clamps from this site, http://www.made4uproducts.com/ , I am going to try to get some ordered this week or next. If I can get all that stuff done this weekend I plan on setting the cab back down on the chassis. I also need to see if I can get any of the bost mount bolts in stainless steel.

I've been busy with school, work, and I got an 87 nova for a daily driver so I had to drop cash and alotmof time into it. Now I'm caught up on bills and what not Im back into it. I ordered a gm serpentine system, a summit ignition combo, made 4 you clamp kit, and summit twist lock hose. It will be in tommorow. Ill post pics when it comes.
