I'm in the process of swapping a 2.8 out of a 91 2wd standard trans S-10 into my wifes 87 Durango 4wd automatic truck. I noticed that the ring gear (flex plate) from her motor has a bob weight tack welded to it. Someone once told me that some 2.8 motors are externally balanced and some are internally balanced. The yard where I bought the 91 motor said it was internally balanced. Can I use the 87 flex plate or do I need a later model? The engine # on the 91 is: A910711FKJ and the # on the 87 is: A070812FDC . It's hanging on the hook right now so I need to resolve this so I can finish putting it in. Thanks

OK, I've done some checking and apparently I need a flywheel without the weight for the 91 motor. Can I just drill off the weight from the 87 flywheel and use it or do I need to go buy a flywheel?
