So doing my muffler delete on my `98, should I replace the old 2.5 inch cat with a 3 inch high flow and 3 inch tail pipes, or should I keep the cat 2.5 inch and run 3 inch tailpipes???

3 inch high flow and 3 inch tail pipes,

dual 2.5 into single 3" is good for 500hp I bet you dont have 300 hp, so, 2.5 the entire system would be perfect. The y pipe onthe V6s is the biggest portion that chockes the factory engine.
No reason to get rid of a muffler, just get a better one. Magnaflow or Borla are the 2 top muffs,. andthey cost a bit to get, but very worth it.
