Hey everyone this is my first post (I've been using these forums over the past 6 months while I've been doing my first motor swap and hunting down problems I've run across either while doing the swap or post swap fixes) I have a 1997 chevy s10 with the 4.3 and 4x4 I've been looking around the internet for 6" lifts and I'm really struggling finding anything other than the rough country (I'm fine with the rough country just wondering if there's more options) if y'all wanna comment your setups and post pictures of your rigs in the comment(even if you don't have a 6" lift any sorta off-road inspired build is helpful) I'd really appreciate it, have a good night

Most guys go with a solid axle swap, it’s about the same over all cost as a 6” lift but way more durable.

This is my solid axle build. Not cheaper than a Rough Country 6" lift, but definitely better.

TomA-Well you went pretty big on your axles and passenger drop. I’ve got about 300 into mine so far and that includes a d30 and 31spline 8.8 4.10lsd with a set of 5 cregers.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to get out of control. It really just depends on what you want to do with it.

I already had a bunch of the parts on my K5 (Dana 60, 14 bolt, SM465, NP205), so I wanted to use what I already had. Even then, I try not to think about how much I've spent on it.

I’m by the hour getting pretty close to installing a used BDS 5” lift on my Jimmy. Removing the lift from the Doner Blazer was pretty easy (2 shop nights) Removing everything from Jimmy has proven to take longer (5 shop nights) will see how long the install takes...
#1 most difficult part was removing original torsion bars and keys
#2 separating pitman arm & upper ball joints
#3 cutting frame (angle grinder/ reciprocating saw) cleaning & painting
