5.7 Vortec swap with stock manifolds

I'm in the process of swapping a 5.7 into my blazer and I would like to run factory manifolds. I have PS factory manifold. That will work but no such luck with DS. I've read multiple threads on guys doing it but with no pics. I purchased a LT1 factory DS manifold from caprice but it will not clear steering shaft? Is there a certain model that fits? Can anyone point me to a thread with pics or correct model?

I believe you need the low performance Camaro anifolds..not sure which year
Yes I think I have read that as well. I think its a 3rd Gen but again I'm not 100% sure
88-92 Camaro TBI manifolds are a direct fit. IIRC

I have used LT1 manifolds on 4wds.

This is what I have heard as well, about the Camaro TBI manifolds. I have also heard of someone moving the steering shaft with another u-joint... but I think that's crazy talk, just find the right manifolds.

So this swap is for 2wd blazer. Do you still think the tbi manifolds would work without moving the steering?
I don't see why they wouldn't. 4wds have to contend with the front rear. You should have more room on a 2wd.
Most guys that run LT1s & stock manifolds notch the frame!!! Headers are easier to locate than 3rd gen low perf manifolds...
I tried to use the stock manifolds and the drivers side hit the frame at the collected so I went a head and bought the headers saved myself a lot of time and headache they were well worth the money
Yeah I know headers are easier but I have sandersons on my crew cab and I've tried everything to from header locks on headers to locks on collectors and still till this day I get get exhaust leaks and have to replace gaskets atleast every 4-6 months. Just don't want to deal with it
How thick are the flanges? Back in the day when flanges were not very thick, a cut between pipes in the flange would allow a little movement for a better sel.
Plenty of us have run stock GM manifolds w/o the need to cut a notch in the frame. I know for one I have never notched the frame on an S10 V8 conversion.
You should start another thread, this one is from 2015. I doubt they'll answer.
