Installed new flex plate and torqued also change fuel rails to non-return style decided to go with the Corvette fuel filter with the built-in return.
LS to S10 oil sending unit. M16 x 1/8 NIP to 1/8 NIP to 1/4 FIP.
A 1999-2000 4.8L/5.3L sending unit is a single wire M16 threaded sending unit (SMP part # PS303-ACDelco D1818A) no adapter needed. I'm putting in pressure sender extension. I'll post a picture as soon as all the ferrel's show up.

Will it work with the S10 / Sonoma gauge and give a correct psi reading?A 1999-2000 4.8L/5.3L sending unit is a single wire M16 threaded sending unit (SMP part # PS303-ACDelco D1818A) no adapter needed. That's the one CPW told me to use. My son has a 94 6.5L TD. He built an OPS extension for that, because they are problematic on those. I decided to do that for mine too using the ACDelco D1819A. The OE sender for my 2000 S10 2.2L/4.3LWill it work with the S10 / Sonoma gauge and give a correct psi reading?
Thanks that's good to know. That's the one CPW told me to use. My son has a 94 6.5L TD. He built an OPS extension for that, because they are problematic on those. I decided to do that for mine too using the ACDelco D1819A. The OE sender for my 2000 S10 2.2L/4.3L
How far off is the PSI on the Ls oil pressure sensor compared to the S10?I'm using the 5.3/4.8 sender as well, but learned from a very trusted source that it isn't super accurate. It will still tell you if there's pressure or not, but the value isn't correct.
If I were to do it again, I'd keep the pressure sensor that goes to the computer (but not the gauges) in the factory location and use an adapter block at the oil cooler ports for the S10 sender.
I see they just put a standard ring terminal on the end over the fitting try not to flex it too much those things like to break. They should have put a braided ground wire with a heavy duty ring on there instead of the standard ring terminal. I've seen too many ring terminals fell in my line of work snapping off between the hoop and the crimp. Vibration is the ring terminals worst enemy.here is the picture of that oil pressure switch extension, I have not put the ground wire on yet. View attachment 361932
Remote mounting the sending units a good idea so if it goes bad you don't have to take the intake off to replace it. Had to replace one on my 4.3 a couple months ago had to take the stupid distributor out to replace it. But that's GM for you making it fun. This is a prototype & that is a good idea. The braided ground wires I've seen still have a crimped ring terminal on both end's. We are kicking around a soldered ground wire for the next one. I also found some Gates 4LOLA hose that will be a little more flexible as well. It's a 300psi working pressure and 1200psi burst, instead of 500psi working w/1600psi burst.
This is the same information Grant has shared with me in the past. He did some legitimate testing between the sensors, so it's not hearsay coming from him.How far off is the PSI on the Ls oil pressure sensor compared to the S10?
Thank you for the info. I'm finally at the point in my build where I can pull the frame out drop the engine and transmission in and see where I need the trim the fat from the frame to make everything fit. This is the same information Grant has shared with me in the past. He did some legitimate testing between the sensors, so it's not hearsay coming from him.

oil pressure switch location
I just ordered my wire harness for my swap. the engine has two oil galley plugs in it. 1 is on the DS front corner of the block. the other is in the top rear of the block. Has any one thought about putting the oil pressure switch in front. if you have looked at the melling video for priming the...www.s10forum.com

Oil and Temp sensor
I have a 2003 v6 s10 that I am going to install a 2003 6.0 LQ9. What sensors do I need to use to keep my gauges working. The v6 ones or the LQ9? Thanks for your help, Davidwww.s10forum.com
