2004 Chevy Blazer Ls 2dr
. I am putting a 5.3L (L59) from a 03 GMC Yukon drive by wire with the summit racing Pistons Chevy performance head gaskets and 243 heads Mill down to 62 CC my compression will be 10.6.1 CR. Should work well with the 2004 LS6 Corvette camshaft I'm going to be using. And a 2006 4L60E C/N 6CPD C-Police Truck transmission from a retired NYPD fleet Chevrolet Tahoe.

Mine is DBW. TrailBlazer pedal. I believe the TAC module is from the same vehicle. It was plug & Play with the CPW harness. Cruise works fine.

If you can can you take some pictures of your setup and post them I would most appreciate it. I'm going to order the wiring harness and accessories from current performance for the swap. I'm picking the engine up Wednesday it's out of an 03 Yukon with the tac module and gas pedal and ECU.

This is the bracket Harley made for the pedal. It will not fit 98+ I believe. Even then we had to tweak it a bit and bend the pedal towards the hump.

This was the aluminum prototype with the pedal attached. The final version was powder coated steel.

I'll have to take a pic of the TAC module tomorrow. It fits where the current cruise unit is, and even uses the same holes. @Harley an explain how we got the wire harness for it thru the fire wall with a grommet to seal it.

In this pic, you can see where the wires come thru the firewall in a grommet just above the cover.

Make sure you have everything you're going to use since the harness is made to your specs.

TAC module controls the cruise functions with the DBW throttle body. If you're getting a custom harness made all the connections should be where they need to be for it to work. When I talked to CPW about @Rhotpursuit harness I did tell them where I was mounting the TAC module and they provided the wiring where I needed.

I'm trying to remember why the 98+ is different for the pedal mounting, but I think it's just a slight hole position difference. I could, at some point, mock up the difference with my 2000 and develop a bracket for the 98+ too, but not sure if my price point for selling it would be worth it to anyone.

I like to use the 03 Trailblazer pedal because it works with the 03 era full size truck TAC module and is plentiful in the junkyards. The full size pedal doesn't mount as easily, so I avoid them.

The other pedal I like to use is the GMT400 Diesel pedal. They are close to mounting up if they don't directly. I made my own bracket for my own reasons, but it was also easy to do. The only 2 caveats with the diesel pedal is the wiring is close, but not exactly the same as the full size pedal and I recommend a travel stop to make sure the sensors aren't over-travelled. I had that issue until I added the adjustable stop.

I used the full size pedal harness for @Rhotpursuit truck. The Trailblazer pedal has a different connector, so I had to wire that in. The harness was routed through the S10 throttle cable hole, but I had to open it up. I used a lathe to make a centering bit the size of the original hole for the hole saw, so that it didn't wander. It worked better than I thought it would

On my 99 I used a 4l60E transmission dipstick grommet (the one at the bottom of the tube that goes into the trans case) and it fit the hole perfectly. Makes a perfect protector for running the pedal wires through the firewall where the cable had been. It's has a slightly larger hole in the middle than needed, but I figure there will be more wires eventually going through the firewall and then I'll fill it with RTV.
my harness is all custom, all my wiring comes in low by the foot rest area of the passenger floorboard. tac mounts tot he firewall about the middle. cruise is hooked up to 3 buttons in center console.

Thanks oldeerslayer & Rhotpursuit for getting back to me with the pictures and info I will take all the information I can get on the doing this swap. I picked up the 5.3 today had to wait 3 days for them to pull it out.

The nice thing about the larger hole is it fits the Silverado grommet and passes the connector through without having to unpin the harness.
I ordered some parts today. I ordered the oil pan and motor mounts from current performance and the transmission crossmember and exhaust manifolds hooker Blackheart from Holley. Also ordered flywheel spacer and Holley Blackheart evaporator core cover and Hitachi ETB0019 Throttle Body and starter . It's funny how fast all this adds up.

When I started mine I was writing down each item and the total cost including gas or shipping. About 6 months in I stopped adding to the list. It was getting too painful to know how much this was really costing.
Just dropped $400 today on some cheap Federal sticky tires to put on the $400 set of C5 wheels and $100 worth of spacers.
Cheap tires and used wheels mounted and balanced with new lug nuts $1K+. Next month a grand for a steering box and shocks. Been doing this for a year.

And I just add more I order 19420455 - Chevrolet Performance Valve Springs & GM (12565308) factory LS6 Camshaft that should add a little pep to the 5.3 I will lose a little torque on the bottom end but I will gain more on the top end with this cam and still have decent idle.

And since a stock tune is no longer appropriate add $800 for a dyno tune. Make sure the tuner doesn't lock it and that he gives you a copy on a thumb drive in case your PCM should fail.

I'm going to buy an HP tuner and have them use that when it's tuned that way I get to keep my tune plus when I'm done with this truck I will be starting on my other one. I'm thinking of doing a 6.0 or 7.0 on that one that's going to be my fun truck.
I Did a compression check today on the 5.3 it is between 180 and 210 through all the cylinders and I pulled the valve covers looks clean inside rocker arms and the plugs look like they've been burning good who ever had the motor actually took decent care of it. I also picked up a LS1 water pump and ordered the 3/4 spacer from ICT billet.
Harley IIRC The gas pedal got mounted slightly differant, when they changed the tunnel area of the floor pan and moved the hole for the floor shifter, on the stick shift trucks, in 1998. I never could figure out why. I figured that it had something to do, with making it easier to drop the body on, at the assembly plant.

Yeah. I was thinking it was different too. I was noticing this from the electric S10 parts I've played with and those were designed with 97 parts in mind.
Found this at my local U-Pull-It for $7.99 nice addition to my 5.3.
