I have a 89, S-10 4.3 with 210,000 on it. My 4 wheel drive has given me alot of trouble. I've changed out the switch on the transfer case, a few times and replaced vacum lines before. This is a new problem, the vacum going to the diaphram under the battery the diaphram sucks in and pulls the cable going into the
transfer case, but still no 4x4. I've jumped the switch on the transfer case to see if it still worked and it does. I've even driven it in 4x4 with the wheel peged to one side or the other and no jumping around or anything. I don't know why the hubs are not
working, please help...

try taking a pair of vice grips, or a clamp, and manually pulling the diapram to the closed position, thereby pulling the cable, if that works, great!, if it dont, ur in for probs!
