1999 s10 4.3 . If I drive like a normal human being it will slip in 3-4 but if I drive it like I stole it it will shift firm and like its supposed to. Or if i shift it manually its will shift firm and strong with no slippage. I hauled a 1200 lbs of stone last week with it and beat it a little while driving the trans was perfect no slipping nothing od was strong too.

I have an 03 S10 ZR5 4x4 and when i accelerate up to between 55 and 60 MPH and then let off the gas lightly to begin cruising, the transmission (i believe) has a slight jerk? truck has 143K miles and is a pretty clean truck but i did notice the dip stick smells slightly burnt as well. This just started happening and its not super bad at this point but just noticeable, any ideas?

How about "jumps out of gear and will no longer go into overdrive just redline 3rd?" 1993 S-10 4.3 Tahoe LT.. My trans "pops out of gear" and seems to have lost overdrive. There is also a NASTY fluid leak from somewhere. Other than that, R works fine, 1-2 shifts well, 2-3 usually shifts well, but it seems to jump out of 2nd or 3rd sometimes; OD seems to have went away. Any ideas?

Was going to start my own thread, but I will keep that one to my "update" thread..

Just had the tranny in my 1995 4.3 V6 rebuilt. Originally brought it in because after doing a fluid flush and refill I lost all power in reverse. Also after putting new trans fluid in I got a real late shift 1st to 2nd. It would rev past where it should shift, then catch, and then pull the truck forward to the point where you would feel it in the cab and would jerk you around. Took it to a reputable shop for an entire rebuild, my bill of parts consisted of rebuild kit, pressure plate, solenoid, and labor. Got the truck back, it reverses great but the 1st to 2nd delay is still there. I'm worried the shop just did the reverse fix and screwed me over telling me they did an entire rebuild. Could something else cause this?

2. Hello everybody out there.
3. I have a little big problem with my ´00 Corvette C5. My tranny does not work in D or 3
when car is standing. i can only accelerate in 1 or 2. and need to shift by hand
when the car rolls faster than 20mph i can also use 3
when the car rolls faster than 35mph i can also use D
if i need to brake down under the speed, 3 and D are gone and the only thing that
happens is the engine rpm run up

I know this is an old post but I'm posting just in case those who are having 4L60e transmission problems stumbles upon this forum. This guide was recommended to me which I downloaded at this site http://www.4l60eguide.com/ and I'd like recommend it as well. It has a ton of information in it that helped me rebuild/repair 4l60e transmission. This book had a ton of useful diagrams and pictures, plus diagnosis and repair solutions.

I had my 4.3 replaced with a new one , now the trans will not shift and speedo reads 0. I replaced the VSS, and two of the shift solenoids and serviced the trans and still no shift. Don't know what else to do, I've got reverse and one forward gear but not sure which one. Indicator light shows overdrive and second
Oh I also replaced the throttle position sensor to
Any ideas because nothing was wrong with trans when engine was pulled.
Please email me at [email protected] if you have any knowledge

I just joined, and am still learning this forum. but any who, I have a lifted 2000 Isuzu Hombre, and the first week I got it legal, I went mudding with it. Before going off road, the tranny did fine, as I was driving home, I noticed it was shifting VERY slowly. And it hasn't been shifting right since. its not slipping, but it is just slow. It shifts even slower when you start off and give it just a little gas, and when its floored, but when you drive it just a little bit harder then normal, it shifts better, but stiff not like it should. Just wondering if I can get some input on what I messed up and what can be done to fix it.

I have a 2002, 2 wheel drive, 2 door. The TCC will lock up as normal after a slow warm up, about six miles to the highway. Where I work it is only a ¼ mile to the highway. I find that the TTC will not lock up on a quick warm up. I believe it is a faulty transmission temperature switch. Is this switch replaceable and where is it located. I found that after a 20 mile drive on the highway and a stop at the store and then returning to highway speeds that the TTC will operate. If you have any information it would be greatly appreciated.

In general first things first, check the fluid level (warmed up, engine running in Park on level ground) and have the PCM scanned for trouble codes FIRST.
I have found most commonly what seems like a trans problem ends up being a TPS problem. You might try replacing the ThrottlePosition Sensor (TPS). Its easy to do.
Possibilities: Brake pedal switches improperly adjusted (always on), Torque Converter Control (TCC) solenoid failed, Torque Converter Control (TCC) clutch worn out.
Could do a fluid change or additive as well. I like Lucas or Seafoam.

Greetings from Finland. I just rebuild 4l60e and now i have little problem, hopefully someone can help me. Before ihan had 1&2 slipping now they work but trans wont change to 3 or 4. It doesnt even try to change just going second. What i should check or should i just rip it off and take it to trans shop? I checked solenoids and they seems to work.

I have a 95 S10 with a 4L60E that has over 220,000 miles on it and finally quit but my brother-in-law has a 96 with the same transmission in it. I know that the S10 went to OBD-II in 96 so I'm not sure if they will interchange or not.

i was wondering if anyone could help me out here. Recently my transmission has been acting up. After my transmission thouroughly warms up i cant shift into park. if i let it roll back a few inches itll slam into park with a weird clicking sound. once this happens i dont need to use my brake pedal to shift out of park anymore. if i let it cool down for a few minutes itll work just fine, it shifts into park and i have to use the brake to shift out of park. if anyone has any ideas to what the problem might be please let me know. Thanks!
