(during my v8 swap preparation)

Sooooo I noticed today that my harness/ecu does not take any inputs from the column shifter.
I havent checked the wiring diagrams on the 4.3 stuff, but is there a data line that goes directly from column to trans?
if not, how do i control the trans?

oh, ive never pulled a trans so i wouldnt know.
When they say the 4l60e is a fully electric, i just assumed it meant everything was by wire.

so there is actually a mechanical cable that connects the column to the trans?

how is that different for the 700r4 then?

The difference is inside of the transmission, the 700r4 uses hydraulic pressure to know when to shift gears where as the 4l60E uses a computer to know when to shift. So the computer is more accurate and better at keeping it in the correct or optimum gear.

And yea, there's a cable, probably very similiar to what the 700r4 uses to engage from park, neutral, reverse, drive etc....
