the 4.3 will have a higher speed convertor than the v8 as stated. There were many changes to the 4l60e thru out its production.

Yes if it’s a late model it will fit I changed mine. I have a 98 s10 and my engine went down so I dropped in a. 5.7 v8 vortec and it mounted up to my transmission without any issues. A 4.3 vortec is identical to a 5.7, in Ls family. They use the same pistons only difference is a 4.3 is 2 cylinders shy of being a v8. They have the same exact bolt patterns if it’s a late model like your engine. Now if u go get old 350 or something has a carb then no it won’t fit. Different bolt patterns. But on 4.3, 4.8. 5.2, 5.7 they have the same bolt patterns. I’ve changed out several over the years that’s what I do is mechanic work for a living. If u have any questions or need help with something feel free to get up with me. But I also didn’t have to change bell housings like some ppl say u have to. When they doing that then they aren’t getting the late models to match right some other v8s won’t mount up but a 5.7 will most definitely mount to a 4L60E. That’s what the combo was in the z28 Camaro 5.7 LS with 4L60E transmission. Also they use a LS-style 300mm input shaft.

That’s a lot of writing to reply to a 13 year old thread. Please don’t bump dead threads.
