My '91 4.3 seems to be on it's last leg, and I was considering an upgrade to a 350. I am under the impression that the TBI units are the same on the 350's. If so, do I need a computer off of a full-size. Is this a really big pain, or am I going in the right direction. I would really like to stay away from a carburator.

Yes your TBI is the same but the injectors are different you will need to at least change those to ones from a 350, I believe your ECM is the 1227747 and you could use your ecm but the chips will need to come out of the 350 because of the calibration it is a fairly straight forward swap although I have not done it. It has been done. if you have access to a 350 at a reasonable price I would say go for it. I couldn't locate one so I opted to keep my 4.3 make sure you get the JTR book and do your research. You can get a lot of good information about TBI and ECM/EPROM from www.diy-efi.org and good info from the V-8 webring
