Thank you...that makes sense..The General spent a lot of money making the ignition system reliable...why mess with success... A lot of aftermarket components, especially plugs, caps, and rotors don't do well. Use what you have un til they fail..then go OEM.

For those wondering. Mine ended up being the whole distributor. I did a new distributor with OEM cap and rotor. Went back with new OEM plugs and new wires as well2003 4.3 vortec
Misfire issues
Not bad at idle worse around 1000-1200rpm then smooths out some from there up.
I just want to know where to start with fixing it.
