I am looking for advice /tips for reinstalling the upholstered portion of the door panel.
First, they are heat staked to the lower door panel, which is easy to remove, but I have discovered reassembly didn't go so well. They welds held, but popped off easier than I feel comfortable with.
Second, the glass sweep is stapled to the insert. How have you re-attached this? new staples/rivets/etc.?

I’ve been doing so research on this. I’m gonna be recovering mine to match the leather seat swap. From what I’m finding the window strip can be reattached with small screws it 1/8” rivets. I’m going to try hot gluing the insert back to the door panel.

I ground down the plastic heat welds with a rotory tool. To reassemble I clamped them in place and used a plastic welder and added more material to hold in properly.
