Been looking through a bunch of threads, but haven't really seen answers for what I am looking for. I have a frame from an 89 s-10 reg cab short bed and I am placing it under a 1953 Dodge B4B truck. It will be bagged and sit low enough (frame wise) to not have to change the tie rods, so about and inch or so from the ground. Body will be on the ground. I am looking to put a 20x9 up front with 3.5" backspacing. I know I have clearance in the wheel wells (because there are none currently, but will be made) and from the wheel mount to the inner fender wheel lip, there is PLENTY of space.

So my question is.......does anyone know if that wheel will rub the frame at all when turning? With a 3.5 backspace, I feel like I should be ok, but wanted to be sure (if possible) before I order my wheels. I was thinking even with that backspacing it might rub still due to the diameter, but I dont know. This is my first s10 frame. So if anyone knows whether that will rub or not, that would be helpful. I believe I can get 3.25 backspacing if possible, but if not necessary I won't. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Hard to tell if you're going to rub or not if we don't know what tires you are running. The backspace is less than stock, so you shouldn't have a problem there.

Crap, you're right. I completely forgot. Im running something like a 255-35 or a 255-40 maybe (if possible). I'd like as much tire as possible, but would also rather have my running radius still in tact. If its a small rub at a VERY sharp turn, I'm ok with that.

35 series will be near the stock diameter, you should be safe with those. I'm guessing the only way to find out of 40's will work is to try it. I would say you'd be really close.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, but I was just going by the overall diameters of the tire. Figured I would be fine that way, but wasn't sure about the width. The 35's are 27" overall while the 40's are 28" overall. Im thinking they would be ok, but I might have to hit up my tire guy and see if he has both maybe mounted on someh wheels or something (probably not that lucky). I mean I could always buy the 40s and if they don't work, I could sell em I guess. Anyways, thanks for the info. At least I can order my wheels with a little more confidence that they should be fine.
