New to the side of the forum. Today I picked up a 2004 2wd 2dr Chevy Blazer for $1500. It's a little rough I need to run down a short in the courtesy light circuit it has three codes for communication lost with airbags. Also needs a driver's fender and Hood. And since I just picked this up I am thinking of putting my LS 5.3 in this Blazer instead of my 99 Sonoma.

Love the 2-door second gens, I have a pair. This one looks particularly clean with a couple of exceptions and that's a good price, good on ya!

Are you sure it's a 2004? I was under the impression that this was the last year of U.S. production and the only thing made that year was the crewcabs.

Yes it's an 04. I confirmed it by the production date in the driver's door. The date code is 3/04 also confirmed it by the vin .

I probably don't need to tell you the drivers headlight is in wrong... 😂 We've had a '02 Blazer2 since 2004. It's been pretty reliable. Even thought it's just the 2 of us...the back seat is a bear to access. Hoping to get rid of it before too long.

As you can see in the pictures driver side fender is dinged up pretty good it's probably why the headlights tweaked. I need to pull it off and replace it and take a look at the core support and make sure it's not damaged. But if it is I have another one out of an 03 Sonoma. I'm going to go to my local U-Pull-It this weekend maybe I will get lucky and find the same color fender and Hood. I'm thinking about changing the front end from the S10 look to the Sonoma I have everything to do it just need to have the Sonoma bumper repainted to match.

Congrats! I picked a 04 Blazer Xtreme a couple of months ago and I’m having a blast working on it. Do you have any fixes or upgrades coming up?
Yes Belltech 2in spindles and 1in springs Belltech 3in leaf springs for the rear so 3X3 drop. And right now I'm going to be putting Camaro rims and tires just like my Sonoma. And a 5.3 swap and hydro boost brakes swap also. I just also ordered pioneer components set TS-D66C for the front and pioneer 6x9s TS-D69F for the rear. I already have the head unit a pioneer AVH-X5800BHS and I need to put an alarm in it I have one laying around from my old days of being a car audio installer. And I have a GPS tracking system that I can throw in from my current job.

Please share some pictures after the work is done.

Would you be so kind as to share some specs and info on the wheels, tires and brakes you’ll be using?

Thanks

On my Sonoma I use best brakes from O'Reilly's semi-ceramic in the front and full ceramic in the rear and they work extremely well. So I will be using the same on the Blazer. The tire size I will be using is 245/35z/20 front 255/35z/20 rear. This is the combination I have on my Sonoma works very well with very little rubbing. So I'm hoping it will be the same on the Blazer.

I see. I ended up going with the PowerStop z23 kit (Part KC2006). What wheels will you be using with those tires? They seem low profile.

No such thing as a 2006 Camaro.

What's that in the background.. 2 door or 4 door Yukon?
It's a upside down 9 I made a Oops. Don't know these pictures are from when I picked it up from the original owner I got it from. Need to take time and take new pictures. I have been busy working on the little stuff to get it ready for smog.

Put the Sonoma front end on the Blazer today. I like the way it looks, just need to have it painted to match. Also had to replace the core support and the inner fender well on the driver side both were pretty well destroyed in the little fender bender last owner had.

I got lucky yesterday. I was going through Fresno California decided to stop at I -pull U-Pull and found a driver side fender same paint code as the Blazer off of 2001 Jimmy. So only need to repaint hood and bumper.

Put the driver side fender on today and put some old rims and tires I had on until I lower the Blazer. It would look funny with the Camaro rims being stock height.

I know the wheels aren't centered in the openings from the factory, but your front seem to be farther back than most? Although I've noticed the 2wd fronts do appear a tad farther back than the 4wd.
Possible that fender bender on the drivers side bent something frame or suspension wise? Maybe have a front end shop check it out?
