We have a 2001 Chevy s10 4x4 crew cab 4.6 L short bed
We are buying a travel trailer that is 21.5 ft long and dry weight is 2,986 pds, gvwr is 3850. Truck says 5200 pd towing capacity. Of course the camping place says we can tow it, I want to know if I can Really tow it? Anyone towed a travel trailer with this truck? Thanks!

I took the trailer hitch of my crewcab. Just doesn't have the needed power to tow anything heavy. Sure the manufacturers say you can do it. But do you want to struggle every time you get on the slightest grade? The transmission in the crewcab will be even more unhappy than you will. You could take short trips and get away with it.
If you are planning to travel with your travel trailer get a 2500HD. It has a heavier transmission (with tow/haul mode), adequate power, and you'll be able to enjoy your trips.

Maybe I'm slow, I know I'm blind. But what trans are we talking?.
I'm pretty sure that the '01 crew cab 4x4 only came with the 4 speed automatic. Regardless, the previous comments are all on point, especially concerning the braking/ stopping issue.

i have an 02 crew with the 4.3. pulled an 84 Cutlass sans motor and trans on a Ryder aluminum car trailer with no issues. trailer had surge brakes. 21 foot trailer, no thanks, especially on a class lll hitch and i've never seen an S10 with a fifth wheel.

I've pulled a mini- X quite a few times around downtown chapel hill with my Zr2, I hated every moment, and im pretty sure that was why ONE of my 4ls decided to go to "Sleepy time forever nap" and there's a "dually"(actually just 17x15 or something ridiculous) s10 around Fuquay Varina. Pretty sure that mad man put a 5th wheel on it too. Snapped a few pics last time I saw him at the depot.i think it's a "Matchbox Hot Wheels truck"

As my boss calls him..the very elusive dually non dually hot wheels s10. I'll snap a pic of his bed next time I come across it..I keep saying "him"? Watch a woman come out and hop in that thing..

Don't think they're Barts. Not the right shaped bead. They appear to be some sort of bead lock.
Any bets on what engine the truck has? Can't imagine the kind of guy who uses it regularly and has tires that size still running a 4.3. The truck strikes me as belonging to a "form follows function" kinda guy.

Appear to be whatever Fuel copied and calls the D567 which is 100% simulated

Edit: now that I made it public, I will never see him again lol. But if I do I will try to get info...when I'm at lowes, I'm in a rush, if I'm at depot, lowes didn't have it so I'm already running late!
Edit 2: and if I'm at FUQUAY DEPOT??? I'm having an opposite of wonderful day! 🙃 😆 🤣 😂

will no longer be carrying thousands of pounds of "insert weight" as I'm running P-Zero semi skinnies, so just gonna grab another S10 to do that!
Also I don't think Racestar recommend "hauling" anything but butt on BracketStars
