2000 S10 truck seats

Here's a good one for all u guys...... the lower seat handle adjusters snapped off on both my seats. I tried getting new handles and they just will NOT go on. I looked at the piece coming out from the seat itself and found that where it snapped doesn't give me enough room to put the new handles on. Can that piece on the seat be replaced or do I have to start searching junkyards for new seats????

Ok I checked out the videos on how to repair the handles.... the one with the extension on it would be perfect for my truck, but the guy doesn't say where he got it from. U cant leave a message asking cause it's shut down.
So where would I find the one with the extension on it???
Tried ebay?
I would if I knew the name of the part the guy had in the video... if I look up seat handle repair they just give me the new handle
You can also swap the outer seat hinge out without too much trouble if you can find good ones in the junkyard. That's the route I've gone when repairing mine. Somewhere around 2002/3 GM made a revision in the shaft to make it stronger. It's a D shaped shaft rather than the spline, so you'll want to grab the matching handles too.
Look for a video of Dorman 77199 and see if that is what you need.

I think he sheered the teeth of the cheap metal spline.
I just pushed my handle in farther toward the seat and drilled a hole down thru the handle shaft, thru the seat adjuster shaft and out again. Then I used a cotter pin pushed thru it all and works like new.

I owned a 2000 S10 truck with the extended cab had the same problem the metal piece that holds the handle broke off with the handle on mine I had to take it to the dealership to get it fixed, also had a problem with the extended cab door handle twice. Your best option is to look for a seat rail in a salvage yard hope this helps.
How hard is it to replace everything when u get the seat rail
gm seat handles for Sonoma jimmy s-10 blazer 94 to 03ft broken this is the fix | eBay

Their not hard to change at all once pulled out I think it has 4 bolts holding it on the seat
It has 4 bolts holding the seat in if it's power just unplug the power plug once it's removed turn the seat upside down so you can see the bottom you Will see where the bolts are that hold the rail to the seat then just remove it from the seat reverse the process for reinstall
