It's possible. BUT
You will need to build a new engine wiring harness so you can run the 2000 computer. It will probably be simpler to also run the 00 4L60E since I doubt you can program the 00 PCM to run the 93 transmission program. Might be possible if you rewrite the trans program 1 line at a time. In which case you'd need to find a tuner familiar with transmission tuning.
Fuel system will need to be updated to run the Vortecs higher system pressure. Might be able to simply swap the actual pump for the later one. The lines to the engine will need to be made up. No rubber hoses here. You'll need to bend up or splice the metal lines. There are compression unions capable of handling the sub 100 psi dead head pressure the pump can generate.
I believe the 93 exhaust should be close to working. Except for getting the EGR sorted out, since the 2 years went about it differently.
Your skill level will be the deciding factor on how well it turns out. There are a half dozen guys on this forum who could do a good job of it as well as many who would have problems getting all the details right. It's a job for someone skilled and with a good knowledge of S10's. Most of whom would say if I'm gonna do an engine swap, might as well have a V8.
If you are simply in need of a new engine, I'd recommend fixing what you have. Be a lot less work and likely less expensive.
