I have a 93' S-10 2.8L - 5 speed with 170,000 miles. I drive it mostly in town and it runs great - if I drive more than 10 miles down the highway when I begin to slow down to idle the motor starts cutting out and the oil pressure gauge drops - any ideas?

Have you had the ignition module tested?
Once they heat up they can cause a cutout problem like you describe.

try another MAP sensor too off a known good runnign 80s or 90s gm car or truck same style MAP they like to cause stumbling stalling etc at idle after cruising, also make sur eEGR valve is not carboned up and is seating fully

Can the egr cause extremely rough and lengthy idles on a cold start...even on a 2.8L with only 75k on it?
