So this might be a dumb question, but I’ve exhausted all of my internet search options. I want to cam my 2.8 s10, but I don’t know someone that can tune something this old. So I basically want to run a self leading EFI setup on a carb manifold. What exactly do I need to do to make this happen?

Have you thought about using a 3.4L from a Camaro instead? It already has sequential multiport fuel injection (better than any TBI setup) and more power than you'd make from a cammed 2.8L out of the gate. Just use the computer and harness from the Camaro.

well it really just depends on what the price of everything would be and how much work would actually go into it. If the heads are the same between EFI and carb I figured I could just swap the cam and the manifold, and then and let the efi setup do the rest. I really don’t feel like going through the trouble of swapping motors and getting conversion parts to make the clutch work with a different engine. I’m pretty sure you need a different flywheel and other various parts to make sure everything is right.

The 2.8l and 3.4l share alot of components..

You use the entire Camaro motor (find that one that is still good, shouldn't be that hard), most pick n pull junkyards are 200 dollars or less for a motor, plus maybe 50 bucks for the harness and computer. You use your flywheel off of the 2.8L. Mounts are the same, bell housing is the same.

It will be way cheaper than the aftermarket EFI system alone...

Maybe I’d consider it later down the road, but I genuinely just don’t feel like going through a whole swap. Just not enough space and time to do a whole engine swap. I’m mostly just looking to spice the truck up a smidge and give it a little rumble with some shorties on it.
