My truck has around 147k on the truck but only around 10k on the rebuilt engine, for some reason it still pings at idle, is there any way to stop thing? High fuel quality maybe 87 to 91? anyways, or is it time to just drop in the v8 that needs a rebuilt?

Try the higher octane fuel or a different gas station all together...
Can't get rid of the ping? V8 it up if you have the resources

i have a 2000 2.2 and mine pinged and knocked in idle too. for me it was the throw-out bearing. this salso happened to my friends civic. his was the throw-out bearing also.

Cool

How hard is the throw out bearing to replace?

its not that big of a deal. one way to test if it is the bearing or not is if it still makes the noise in idle when you push in the clutch.
