I have a 2wd 1994 s10, the truck is lifted w/ a 2 in body lift, a 3 1/2 suspension lift and also 31 in tires in all about 8 inches of lift. I love my truck but it lacks power. I found a 95 4.3 w/ automatic trans and wire harness, the motor is complete including the headers and such. Can I use the 5 speed I have now or is the trans for a v6 different????

The transmission is completetly different, your gona need a nv3500 or t5. Just to let you know, its just the same amount of work puting in a v8, plus you get alot more power. And if you went carbed you wouldnt have to worry about wiring or anything.

I agree with putting a v8 but the cost is much greater expense. I can get the motor with an auto trans plus all the wires for $400 and I would need to buy motor mounts and the y-pipe. I could probably trade the auto trans for the 5 speed in a bone yard. Then I could also sell the 2.2 to get some money back. Thank you for telling me what trans I need.
