(what it used too look like)

Have my old blazer (93) sitting around taking up space. It is no long in its glory as it looks on my car domain page. But as some of you know it has significant sentimental value to me (first car as well as other things). But Im still not sure if its worth it (what I want to do to it). I've wanted to do an off the frame restorantion, & put an LS1 in it, and make it into a street machine. But I fear the body alone is beyond all repair. The NE salt baths the the tens of thousands of miles have taken their toll.

Take a look at the pics.

Im not even concerneed about the doors and fenders as I would just throw them away, & buy new ones (wanted 2nd gen handles anyway). Its the rest of it that I would be worried about. Any opinions on the body? dont know if its worth spending like $10k on just the body to get it repaired.

I wish I could do body thework. But I dont have the patience, I would never be able to line things up right & dont really know how to weld. What concerns me is like in the one pic it rotted through both sides of the left rear quarter panel. Like, does anyone even back a patch pannel for the backside of it? I know where I could get most of the other pannels, but never seen any like that.

Same with the roof, there was a little hole showing a year or 2 ago, and we cut it out welded a new peice and bondoed it. Now there are more spots where its bubbling up and starting to rot through. Where would I get another pannel for that?

My options are to junk it, maybe get $300 at the yard.
Keep it and spend thousans tryint to make it the truck (of my dreams)I always wanted. It still runs and it still driveable. Other day it fired up on the first try, after sitting for 4 months. Every time I take a good look at it I doubt i'll even be able to do all the work. Cause its been to hell & back. Over 200k miles.
I dont know what I should do. I think I'll regret it a few years down the road if I do get rid of it.

I hate rust it makes me sick!

So, does the body on this appear to be beyond all repair?
Whats the worst some of you have seen?

Body work specialist opinions? estimates?

thanks for any input.

im no expert but ive delt with making a whole new s10 box, it was so bad, for $500 i could get that body finished n in paint.
i also make my own panels n repair what i can, rather then most ppl would just swap.

Cab mounts seem good. As well as the floor pans. Although I havnt given it a real thorough inspection. Its just some shitily designed(sealed) pannels. The passenger side is rotting around the wheel well, (im assuming) because there had been a hole in the quater pannel where salt, water etc, had gotten in there for a while.

I already have a 2nd gen.. Wanted in time, to make a nice first gen. I like the boxy looks. Im not concerned about the paintjob just yet, as I am just getting the pannels repaired and seeing how bad it is.

I've seen worse as well, but wasnt sure how bad these trucks have been before they're too hard to repair.
Anyone have an idea of the estimates? w/out paint. I know its hard to tell how much work there is by looking at it. just curious, cause I have no idea.
