I am in need of an UPPER steering shaft assembly for my 1999 ZR2. All I can find is lower. My mechanic referred to it as needing a "flex joint". I cannot find an upper shaft assembly anywhere. Seems the part is discontinued, even by Dorman.

Thanks!

I don't believe the ZR2 uses anything different for that steering shaft. It'll be easier to just swap the whole shaft. Unbolt the one bolt on the bottom, push it up off the steering box and pull the whole thing out.
Summit has 2 Holley shafts in stock. Seems everyone else is waiting for the boat to arrive from the Orient. They're skinnier to clear an engine swap, but will work just fine w/o one. Supposed to fit all 94+ S10's.

He's talking about the upper shaft. The one with the tulip joint that bolts to the steering column.

I have one I'd give you for free if you're near St. louis. It's still good I just put a rack in and replaced the whole shaft with u joints.

Thanks for letting me know! I'm in Omaha. I found a 99 at U Pull-it. I think 99 - 03 use the same assembly
