Check the coolant resiviour, if there is a blackish material on the walls, you probably have old coolant.
Open up the radiator and look at the inner meal fins-if you can't see them ask to drain some coolant. If you explain your conserns the seller should not object. IF the rad looks nice, you'll probably be fine with a flush and fresh coolant.
If the rad looks corroded, you MAY be fine with a flush and fill--but you may also need a new rad and heater core in the future.
I wouldn't consider this a deal breaker, but just go into the purchase knowing what you're geting into.
But yeah, bravada is right, dex-cool is naturally a darkish orange.
