The general rule is to fill it until it's at the top of the fill plug. You'll have to find a pic of your transmission that shows the fill and drain plug.

I noticed I have a transmission leak coming from the top around the gear shifter. I don't have any idea where to add fluid . Please help

The shiny plug in the middle of the case is the fill plug. Add GM Syncromesh fluid since you have 4.3, until it starts to run out.
The shiny plug at the bottom is the drain plug if you ever want to do a complete change of fluid.
The bottom 2 pics are of the cover and fluid spec page (chapter seven page 13) of the 1994 S10 Owners manual. To verify that it is the correct fluid to use. Do not use anything else.

This doesn't look like the transmission That's supposed to be in it. Plus I was wondering if you could tell me what this steel bar is for? It looks like they had to hack the converter off in order to put this transmission in. It's definitely a working progress Lol
