Hello S10 Community. I'm new here, and have perused many, many forums and threads, looking for an answer to my question, but didn't find any. So, here goes...
I have a 1992 Chevy S10 Blazer with the 4.3 V6 . When I first start it up from a cold start, it high-idles for about 1 minute until it warms up a bit, then it idles normal. When I start driving it, it runs beautifully, full power...until I hit a bump in the road, like pavement buckled up before a bridge; or a small pothole in the road, etc. When I hit a bump, the truck just loses power, almost as if you would be turning off a fuel switch, cutting all fuel to the engine. It only lasts for maybe 2 seconds or so, and then kicks back in, running normal again. As long as the road is smooth, like on a highway, the vehicle runs like a champ, with no issues noted at all. Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this to occur? No error codes pop up, no dash lights come on, headlights stay on, etc. I have checked everything I can think of or have the mechanical capability of checking, such as loose wires to the battery, alternator, distributor cap / plug wires, fuse box, etc. I initially thought this perhaps was an electrical issue, but since the headlights / dome light stays on, I'm leaning more towards a mechanical issue now, perhaps? I thought maybe it was perhaps a fuel pump issue? I hear the fuel pump turn on when I first turn the key on, so it definitely is pumping fuel to the motor, since it starts right up within 3 seconds of turning the key. I'm at a loss - any ideas? I greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer. ~ Steve

Agree w/Rhotpursuit.....seems electrical in nature. Note that it's very possible for a loose ground or other loose connection to only affect your fuel or ignition while other systems remain functioning perfectly. I would go back through the truck with an eye towards a wayward electrical connection somewhere along a critical system (e.g., fuel pump)....

Thank you, I will have to check this out closer!

Update - I had the fuel pump tested, and it is putting out approximately 30 psi. From what I understand, it should be up near 60, correct? So, could that be the issue?
On the old TBI motors, 30psi is the min. 60psi req's started with the later CPFI motors.

I'd go hunting for a bad ground (is your battery hold-down tight and battery connections secure?), but don't rule out a broken fuel pressure regulator spring in the TBI. They're pretty easy to check.

UPDATE: Ok, so, I had the fuel pump replaced, and that seems to have fixed the problem! No more hesitations or stalls when going over bumps, and I've hit some dandys, just to check it out! So, thank you for the suggestions - I've learned more about this blazer than I did before! Hope this thread will help anybody else in the future who experiences the same issues!

Mine had a nick in the wire to fuel pump mid chassis.
