Hey guys, so I have a 1987 s10 that was originally a 2.5 4 cylinder and I’m strongly considering swapping it to a carbureted v8 but I was wonder wha that would mean for the front end. What all would need to be upgraded to accommodate the extra weight? Any help is greatly appreciated!

You're in the right area. Read the stickies and build threads to see what others have done. Different strokes for different folks.

I greatly over analyzed front springs on my first swap. I think I ended up with 1980's Camaro Z28 springs. Even with an iron V8, they ended up being a lift kit. I'd just use what's in there and see what happens. If it sits too low for your tastes, then worry about swapping them out but the stock springs may be just fine.

I agree. Get the swap done first. Worry about the little stuff later.
I replaced a 2.8 with a heavy all iron 454 in an 87 and the springs were fine. Granted I didn't go pot hole hunting with it, but it rode and drove fine.
