Dude, this is unbeleivable! I was cruising the MA Audio site and i came across these....

http://www.maaudio.com/productcatalog.cfm?class=263

They are MA's Hard Kore series
Four 1-Ohm High Temp Aluminum Voice Coils
Patented Thermo-Cooling Motor Structure
Over Sized Mounting Holes for Firm Support
Patented Vertical Cooling Fins
660 oz. Triple Stacked Strontium Magnets
Slot Vented Motor Structure
Glass Fiber Cone for Superior Strength
High Profile Triple Treated Foam Surround
Chrome Plated Push Terminals
Flat Wire Copper Voice Coil
Multi-Braided Insulated Tensile Lead

i've heard MA's before, they were the lowest model avalible and were getting maybe 150w apeice. These damn things were keeping up with my 15" Solobaric L7, and they were in the sh!ttyest box i ever seen in my life.

767's my a$$, the WTC came down b/c a punk with MA's drove by!

MA audio is junk, has been, will be until I see them in the lanes winning, and not selling their junk with half naked women and bogus ratings.

hmm well to touch a little on the orignal posters comment about that vs the L7

you cant compare two things unless they are both properly installed.. i could make 20 15s have less output than 1 6.5 if they are installed wrong ;)

as far as that sub handing 5000 watts RMS that is about IMPOSSIBLE.. cooling technologys these days still dont really allow that much power to even run through the copper of the coil the sub would go into melt down and have heat failure REAL FAST

heres a test

take that su and plug it into the wall :)

depending on your load that will be at least 5000 rms watts @ 60 hz :)

and also notice they dont post any T/S parameters on there

im sure the Xmax on the driver is crap

also lets not forget when your dealing with companys like MA they use 2-3inch wide surrounds that cuts out a significant amount of cone area.

i wouldnt be shocked if those 12s had the cone area of a 10 of not less

you cant just slap a big magnet on a basket and hope it is loud ;)

guys theres plenty of better subs on the market look harder :)

btw one last thing

if you look at the ratings

the 12 and 15 and 18 all handle the same power yet the 18 has a bigger coil hmm sounds sorta fishy :)
