Hi folks, I haven't found other informations in past posts. So here's my question: I'm in search of the correct REAR Differential Pinion Seal for my 1994 S10, automatic. I previously ordered from Rockauto a Timken 8610 and a Timken 2043. The Timken 8610 fitted the front seal, but the Timken...

At what mileage should the Differential be serviced? 1998 4.3 2wd. Auto. What is best Gear oil to use? No issues , just want to keep up with maintenance. TIA

Hi. From the forum I kinda gather that it is OK (but ideally want to know if it is "good") to use Lucas synthetic 75W-90 in my '02 S-10, 2.2L, 5 spd man, 7.625 or 7.5 differential (not sure which). Is it "good" to use it in this truck? No G80 noted in glovebox sticker. I don't see an LS tag...

I have a 2.2L 2wd Sonoma with an open differential and am looking to get a little better traction out of it. I don't do anything crazy with it, but tired of getting stuck when there's just a little bit of a slick spot. One option I could do would be to put in a limited-slip differential of some...

Lifting my old 2001 S10 2wd 4.3L. Putting it on a 5" lift with fiberglass prerunner fenders to be able to clear 35s. Any suggestions or concerns I should upgrade or pay attention too, transmission, gearing, etc. Since I know nothing about lifting this truck? Any help would be great!

I have reason to believe that the diff on my 2wd 2dr 5 speed blazer is on its way out. I want to replace it and upgrade it with a junkyard posi diff so I can start doing full burnouts instead of one-wheel-peels, but I've heard that 4wd posi rear ends wont fit on a 2wd.. Is this true? Which...
  7. Pay It Forward
I own and operate a transmission shop in central Texas and have been a gear train specialist for 20 years. I owe this forum and community a great deal as I pretty much built my hot rod from information I found here posted by kind souls who did it first and shared... So, if you have any gear...

howdy howdy, I have a question about the legendary 8.8 swap, is it necessary to shorten? I don't have welding experience to do it myself and it would be rather expensive to pay a shop to do it where I live, probably more than the rear end is worth to do it. (crazy suckers wanted 150 bucks at the...
