I moved to Washington after retiring from the military and bought this truck to take the place of my old '86 GMC S15. I've been wanting to do a V8 swap in a first gen since I was in high school but joined the military and never got around to it. My GMC has been sitting in my parents back yard in Wisconsin for so long there's not much left, so I picked up this truck to do a swap in. Sadly, the GMC will most likely become just a parts donor for this truck unless I let the sentimental value override my common sense. Now all I need is money...
1988 Chevrolet S10 (Gray/red)
4.3 V6/700r4 (for now). Looking for an LH8 out of a 2009+ Colorado or Canyon (all aluminum 5.3/4l60e).
Replaced the torn up factory bench seat that didn't have headrests with one that does have headrests. Taking the A/C delete/radio delete dash (no A/C vents, cubby hole where the radio would be) out of the GMC and putting it in here. Will be getting Speedhut gauges once I get the new engine installed.
Leaving it alone. Going for a "sleeper"
Kenwood CD player going to be replaced by a hidden blue tooth receiver, amp, and new speakers once I finish the dash swap.
Wheel and Tire
Stock 14's for now (wanting a set of Camaro 18" Heritage steel wheels)
