  1. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
It wont help. They need a 97-Up SLP Y-Pipe or a truck. So we are outta luck.
  2. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

UPDATE I test fitted the Y-Pipe on my truck. There were problems. 1. Holes on flanges need to be drilled bigger. 2. 02 Sensor bungs need to be moved slightly. Other than those problems, it lines up perfectly with headers and cat-back. Now, I got some bad news. Due to the un-friendly...

Adam, how about doing..... Oval Tubing .......performance AND clearence. Should solve the problem for the picky customers. Some of you guys are WAY too low. I have 4/5.5 drop and never drag my stock pipe, which hangs MUCH lower than the CRMB pipe and MUCH MUCH lower than the classic SLP Pipe.
  4. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
WOW. That's odd. OK, everyone listen to what I'm about to say very well. My truck is a 2001 S10. Originally it had "Pre-Cat, Cat" So, 2 cat-converters. Well, I decided to get this project started with a 98-99 Y-Pipe. So I got a stock 98-99 Y-Pipe, direct from GM. 2wd, Auto. THEN...
  5. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
Yes it does! About 1 inch gap between tranny and CRMB pipe. Should provide plenty of clearance even for the manual trannies.
  6. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
There will be a small gap between the top of the pipe and the bottom of the transmission. You guys that are already dragging frame, are out of luck.....of course. It DEFINITLY will NOT hang lower than the stock pipe. However, the gap is about the thickness of less than 1 inch. This should...

UPDATE My local shop test fitted the prototype-pipe while re-doing my exhaust, it FITS! So now I'll ship back the Prototype to CRMB, and he will start to produce them!
  8. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
Unfortunately, the CRMB shipping department has been far behind. But I just received the prototype. I'm also waiting for my stocker pipe to come back (cant attempt to get the prototype installed without a back-up incase it doesnt fit) Sorry for the delay, but things like this can take some...
  9. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
OK guys, this pipe will be test fitted on my truck within' the next couple of a weeks hopefully (and by hopefully, I mean providing the shipping isn't slow and I can get my local shop to put it on quickly). So here's the deal, if it doesn't fit, I will identify the spots, and he will re-adjust...
  10. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

UPDATE. CRMB has finished the protype for 1996-Up S10 Automatic trucks. He modeled it based on a stock Y-Pipe I sent him. I will be test fitting his protype within' 2 weeks. If it fits, he will start the mass production. If not, then we will make the proper adjustments, then make a 2nd...
  11. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
Exactly what I was going to recommend. OK GUYS, I just got off the phone with CRMB (Adam) and he said that if he could get anywhere between 5-10 people to put a down payment, then he would gladly start up production on 96-Up Pipes. I think he said ether a $25 or $50 down payment. I'm...
  12. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
Actually, the SLP Y-Pipe tucks more than the 2000-Up Y-Pipe. The 1999-Past is right against the tranny, BUT, the 2000-Up has quite a large gap between the tranny and stock Y-Pipe. This new Y-Pipe should clear the frame or be within' tolerance.
  13. Y-Pipe Group Buy, most likely to happen!

    Exhaust
This one won't fit your truck. Your's is a 5spd. BUT, I gave him the proper information concerning the fit. So he can easily make one for a 5spd. Only difference is, the section of the tubing that crosses the tranny, is 1 inch lower on the 5spd trucks. Thats all.

$400???????????????????? Where the hell are you getting that price from? I paid around $40 for 4 bends, two 90 degree and two 45 degree 2.5 inch bends, highest quality you will ever see in a mandrel bend, a $400,000 CNC mandrel bending machine made them. Add the $40 to the extra pipe and...
  15. How far can bolt ons take you?

    262ci Forum (4.3)
I've seen 12 RWHP just from my Hooker-MaxFlow with mandrel bent pipes. Al Martin @ Wynjammer.com has seen 6 RWHP from the Shorty JBA's. And the old SLP Y-Pipe would be good for AT LEAST 8 RWHP, EASY. Stock is roughly .75-1" at the bends. SLP Y-Pipe is 2.25 all the way, which matches the...
  16. best sounding muffler on a 4.3?

    Exhaust
Spintech for best sound and very good flow. Hooker Maximum Flow for best flow with nearly as good sounding as Spintech. Flowmaster for pretty decent sound and OK flow. Borla for good sound and great flow. Stay away from the RICEY Magnaflow's. Stay away from the RICEY Dynomax's. Stay away...
  17. Anyone running a magnaflow muffler on a 4.3?

    Exhaust
When I had my Magnaflow, I had 3" single. My muffler was also the 24" body. It sounded deeper and quieter than anyone else's Magnaflow on this board, and IN MY OPINION, it sounded ricey. It did not have a deep/throaty/growl. Spintech will make the 4.3 sound like a small V8. Flowmaster and...

:bs: Sorry not trying to be rude, but saying it wont make a bit of difference, is just an old wives tail. Old-fools that can't afford to put mandrel bend machines in their custom exhaust shops will tell EVERYONE that mandrel doesnt do shit. Common-freaking-sense is all it takes to know...
  19. Bending questions

A pinch or crimp bend will usually crush the pipe nearly a half inch. For example, if you have a 2 1/2 pipe, you will only have around 2" of flow, because you lost nearly a half inch of flow. Your exhaust only flows as great as its weakest link. Take a straw and try to blow through it after...

I've been looking for an excellent Torque Converter. And a Shift Kit. And Vette Servo's. And Re-tune for Gear Upgrade...... Well....here's the verdict on "advice" I've been given. I was debating on going from 3.42 (what I have now) to 4.10. Have any of you guys ever talked to the owner of...
