    Trucks For Sale
Supposedly from 96-99 GM only sold 60 to fleet purchasers. The other aprox 450 were leased and crushed when turned in.

  3. Eating o2 sensors every other month

    2.5L - 1st gen 4-banging
Water temp sensor would make it run rich and could cause the symptoms you're describing.
  4. Scan tool to bleed ABS

    Wheels, Tires & Brakes
I think GM added the ABS bleed procedure to the Tech2 because most ABS pumps that dealerships install are brand new bone dry ones.
  5. 1994 4.3L Passenger Side Knock Sensor

    S10 / Sonoma
That's a knock sensor if the connector looked like the pic below, but the wire was dk blue in 94. 4.3's that year had 2 one on the head and one back by the distributor on both the vin Z and W. At least that's what the wiring diagrams say. If it were mine and the other one was OK, I'd forget...

  11. Chime and radio

    Sound and Security
Don't know as there is a wire you can cut w/o other consequences. The popular opinion is you're stuck with the chime. If you do figure out a way, please post it so we all can benefit from your new info.
  12. Alternator bracket and power steering pump

    LSx Discussion
I seem to remember seeing a kit available to lower the pressure of the pump so you don't cause steering box leaks. Just lowers the point where the relief valve opens. Don't know if it'll fit the Corvette pump, tho. The only other issue I can think of is to be sure your bracket raises the PS pump...
  13. 02 Blazer no power to fuel pump

    262ci Forum (4.3)
Hey man, no problem. The Thursday comment wasn't aimed at you. It was intended to get a grin from some of the older members because this does come up a lot.
  14. Advice wanted on 87 4X4 SBC upgrade

    V8 Discussion
My current choice for electric fans is 99-00 era Dodge intrepid set up. It's nearly a bolt on to the S10 rad. Has dual fans that both run hi or lo. The 4wd upper mounts are a bit different than the 2wd, but since you already have the 2.8 lowers you are ahead of the curve. The JTR manual is a...
  15. 2wd to 4wd

    2.2L - 2nd gen 4-banging
The transfer case will only bolt up to a 4wd transmission. The output shaft and tail housing are different. Why are you wanting a 4wd transfer case? If you're thinking it will convert the truck to 4wd, not even close. The 4wd trucks have a different frame and suspension, a front differential and...
  16. Intermittent starting problem (acts like battery is dead)

    262ci Forum (4.3)
Welcome to the forum. How many miles on the truck and are you in or out of the salt belt? Have you taken apart and cleaned every ground wire under the hood? Including the ones on the back of each head? Have you checked the grounds from the block to the frame and firewall? Have you looked over...
  17. RUST-FREE, FULLY-ELECTRIC (BATTERY POWERED), S10 / SONOMA FOR SALE OR TRADE

    Trucks For Sale
Since GM didn't offer the S10 Electric until 96 and those were FWD, I gather this is a conversion. Who built it and when? Chevy's version got 33-43 miles on a charge. How far will this one go on a full charge and what kind of batteries does it have?

Looks like bank 2 has a lazy sensor. (Getting old)
  19. Advice wanted on 87 4X4 SBC upgrade

    V8 Discussion
The primary problem with JTR mounts is that Mike is convinced the engine needs to be moved to towards the passengers side. That makes exhaust, plugs, and starter a PITA to access. I prefer AA mounts. They put the engine centered and where it belongs. I base my SBC swaps on the premise that the...
  20. Stuck in 4X4

    Transmission & Rearend
There is an old story about a guy who took his car into a shop to get a squeak fixed. The mechanic opened the hood, grabbed a hammer and gave it one wack. Squeak was gone. He says that'll be $100. The guy says $100 to hit it once with a hammer? No the mechanic replied. $10 to hit it, $90 for...
