  1. 5spd swap

    S10 / Sonoma
You need your PCM reflashed or you're going to have a bunch of transmission related codes, and to have your clutch safety switch work.
  2. S10 to blazer conversion

    S10 / S15
Sounds more like jimburban to me.
  3. I think I need a wiring diagram that has pictures and I can read

    Electrical / Lighting
Yea, no more going to the library and making photocopies, lol.
  4. Slight front lift with coil springs?

    2wd
Pretty sure the 5664 is a stock style spring and it will put your truck at factory height, which is roughly a 2" difference front to rear. As I already said, you will need lift springs in front... or lower your rear with blocks or springs.
  5. 2.2L engine ID help

    2.2L - 2nd gen 4-banging
94 and 95 should be interchangeable, 96 and 97 look similar but have a cam sensor. 94-95 PCM can control a 96-97 as well, you just won't have SFI.
  6. Slight front lift with coil springs?

    2wd
The trucks were not level from the factory. This is done on purpose to increase the load capacity. Putting lift springs on would be your only option to get it level. That's why you always see people doing 4/6 5/7" drops.
  7. 1995 2.2 L S10 turbo

    2.2L - 2nd gen 4-banging
I don't know why you'd want to tear down a brand new crate engine... but you'll want ARP head studs and Cometic head gasket at the very least. You can go as far as you want though, chevycavalierworld can still get parts afaik. They should have different stage turbo kits as well through DTS2...
  8. Most Ridiculous finds on Craigslist volume II

    Off-Topic
That looks like a pretty clean truck but still about 6-7k too much. There's a lot of trucks you can get for 11k that can do more than an S10.
  9. Project: Autocross S10

    Member Projects
Yea, I would tend to think that a manual with 4.10s is going to be harder to get rid of wheel hop, but with the speeds of autocross, I would put 4.10s behind anything just for that boost in acceleration.
  10. Your thoughts on a V8 Swap on a 2001 S10

    S10 / Sonoma
I would definitely upgrade the brakes at the very least, and make sure if you keep the suspension stock, that everything is fresh. Adding more power without addressing the entire vehicle is usually asking for trouble, especially if you plan on "hooning" it.
  11. Baja Restoration

Nice! This just reminds me of how I should be making more progress on my Grand Am though. Engine has been on the stand for way too long.
  12. I think I need a wiring diagram that has pictures and I can read

    Electrical / Lighting
    Not cranky, just sarcasm/bluntness.
  13. Xtreme right rear bed skirt

    Xtreme / ZQ8
I would definitely keep looking. In my experience, 3D printed stuff would not hold up to being mounted to the exterior of a vehicle, especially what is basically the underside of it.
  14. Ideal swap for a beginner

    Member Projects
I doubt it has a stage 2 clutch... and if it does, it should have a lightweight flywheel too. Transmission is most likely an NV1500, a T5 takes some modification that I don't think most people would feel worth doing. If it's not loaded, it shouldn't have trouble up hills, gotta keep those revs...
  15. I think I need a wiring diagram that has pictures and I can read

    Electrical / Lighting
There's also stickies in the electrical section with links that still work... and maybe reading is something you need to work on because this is the 1st gen section.
  16. 2.8 and 60* V6 Performance Mods

    60v6 Forum (2.8/3.4)
The thing is that with all the work to do that you could just adapt a later FWD engine into the truck instead and probably make more power NA. Personally, I would figure out how to shoehorn an LZ9 into the truck, it has 240hp and 240lb/ft. with a very wide powerband. 90% of the torque is...
  17. Help Purchasing a S10

    S10 / Sonoma
The main thing I would avoid is modified trucks... I would pay more money for one that is bone stock. My truck is no where near stock, but I know all of the changes I made. I know that what I've done isn't going to suddenly fail, and when something wears out, I know what parts I used. I wouldn't...
  18. Rockauto is great

    RockAuto
The only problem I've had so far: The cam gear that came in the timing set for my 95 Grand Am 3.1L is rubbing the bolts for the thrust plate... haven't had time to really look into it yet. I bought the set a long time ago so there's probably no return possible but it was cheap.
  19. Help Purchasing a S10

    S10 / Sonoma
Don't spend 5000 dollars on an S10, that's just crazy.
  20. Help Purchasing a S10

    S10 / Sonoma
4 cylinder 2wd will be the easiest to find with a stick shift. I'd stick with trucks built in this millenium. The VIN 5 (8th digit) engine trucks are pretty robust.
