I will never purchase a vehicle with any painted intakes, fuse box covers, dash pieces, calipers, drums, rotors, wheels, etc. It's almost a guarantee that some idiot has gave it hell, all the while "customizing" it along the way.
That's the market im assuming. If visible rust was a disqualifier for road worthiness most Kentucky drivers would be shlt out of luck lol. I'll probably weld in some rockers and cab corners on mine eventually.
I need to put rockers on my '94 baddd, goddam things will catch your pant legs on entry/exit.. I could understand the appeal of cheap preformed panels to the self tapper and rattle can "bodywork" guys just trying to make a Chevy Venture not look like a rusted pile.
Oh yeah I know he meant gasser style. Ive always though they were cool, along with a lot of other jacked up cars. I don't think he really comprehended what the ass dragging trucks are trying to accomplish. It was funny none the less.
I've got one, sort of. Body and wiring was pretty much trashed. It also had a lien on it from 1999 somehow that I could never get sorted out. I'll eventually probably swap the engine/trans into my '88 short bed.
I work with this kind of eccentric old dude, loves to fabricate and used to have some hot rods. Showed him ty Morris blazer today. He says "My uncle used to do '55 Chevys that way....it's still f*cking ugly now. God it looks like shlt on new stuff." We do a lot of driving, and he cracks me up...
