Tricks for getting new retainer clips on a new grill

Just as the title suggests, I have a new grill and all new retainer clips to get in place. these things are tight and I want to keep the tabs intact, I can get enthusiastic and inadvertently break my toys. Thanks for the experience and ideas.

Line them up right and push them in - a little grease never hurt.

There's no need for grease...they didn't use grease from the factory. The clips can be spread a little bit for install and still fit tight.

Appreciate the insight everyone. I have a way of breaking stuff, even bulletproof - indestructable stuff and the mounting tabs on the back of the grill are far from that level. Thanks again.

The clips and grill are on. What worked for me was a pair of channel locks, adjusted to the right gap to gip the corner of the clip and a part of the grill to push the clip on, and a hammer and flathead screwdriver to sink the clip all the way in. Note: Clip part # 15002520
