Ordering Replacement Grille 1998 S10 Base Model

Hi Guys,
I am doing a 1998+ grille/headlight/bumper swap with my 1997 S10 and I just wanted to know what grille to go with if I'm looking to go with an OEM 1998+ base model with light metallic pewter paint look? I was checking out the grilles on LMC truck and not sure if I should get the dark grey grille and buy the additional chrome molding or get the light grey grille grille with the chrome molding. Looking to do a 1998+ OEM base model so which would I chose? Thanks.

#5 looks to be the base model grill. Unpainted gray with chrome strip.

Don't forget to get the hardware kit and a center emblem.
I have the red SS one on my 98 ZR2. Technically it's not an SS but with the 6.2L V8 I think it's super sporty.
You'll also need a 98 up radiator support to attach it to.
If you do a search there's a post with the headlight wiring diagram. You might want to do the quad high beam mod at the same time.

Those aftermarket grilles are junky. Honestly you'd be better off with a used OEM piece. Even if it takes a little hunting and fixing up once you find one it'll be worth it.

They're also super plentiful in the junkyards. Especially if you plan to paint it anyway.

I'll make it 4 of us that would recommend used OEM first. Plus they'll come with the clips and bowtie. Just be sure to prep it properly before painting.
Anyone have any recommendations short of taking it to a professional body shop. Last 2 I did peeled. Think it was the insane humidity we had here last summer.
Been 8 months and most of southern WI is still dealing with flooding that started last summer.

reccommend a base coat of Krylon for plastic- then your final color in auto paint- the Krylon will stick better to the plastic and give you a good base- and agree w/ the four wise men above- aftermarket is NOT the way to go- never fit right and most are just plain funky .

Agreed. Aftermarket grilles look terrible and are instantly noticeable. The bowtie fits IN a stock grille. An aftermarket grille the bowtie goes on the grille...
