And you're proud of it. What a winner. The amazing part is even with everything you have said God still loves you and gave his only son to die on the cross for you and your sins.

If actions like that aren't a cry out for help and needing to be saved I don't know what is. Someone is obviously lost and needs some real direction in their life.

Cry out for help..? Needing to be saved..? Lost in life..? Sounds to me like the guy was just having hell of a time living his life!

And why would you tell him that God still loves him and all this gibberish, knowing that he has absolutely no belief in God?

I have to side with these two, minitrucker and mathius. I might, just might, put some belief in this "supreme being" if you give me hard facts of his existence.

You said you told us all you know, which is all bible scripture, yet you still push us to believe. If you really want people to believe, go and find the real facts of his existence, please.

Getting drunk and high and cursing at people in a church parking lot is the time of his life? Sounds like a lost soul.

And why would you tell him that God still loves him and all this gibberish, knowing that he has absolutely no belief in God?

Cause it doesn't change the fact that God still does, whether he believes or not.

I have to side with these two, minitrucker and mathius. I might, just might, put some belief in this "supreme being" if you give me hard facts of his existence.

As I said if what I have done is not enough why not go search for yourself? And I haven't pushed anyone to believe. I have simply tried to answer all your guys "questions" as best I know how. I'm not the one on here running around ranting, cussing, calling other peoples beliefs bullshit and on and on. If anyone's doing the pushing it sure isn't me.
I'm not here to save anyone, if you don't like my answers that's fine with me go get your own instead of sitting back like a 4 year old and expecting to be spoon fed.

Re: Do you believe in God?

it really is funny how a storybook brings out so many strong feelings in people. Whether you believe in a god or not, you cant argue the fact that the world would be much better off without any religions.

Re: Do you believe in God?

OK, so you believe that all that shit is caused by lack of religion in schools? Fine......naive, but fine. Please explain to me why ALL of mankinds violent conflicts throughout history have been based on nationalism, racism, and religion. If you ask me....eliminating one of those causes would make for a better place to live, no?

If you want to read the rest which I doubt anyone will you can look through this link which is one of many and that just has to deal up to the late 80s and correlations of removing prayer from school.

http://heartofwisdom.com/blog/when-p...out-of-school/

Dude, you asking me to read that and take it as truth is like asking me to watch Fox News/MSNBC to get the true view on political topics. Of course all that info is going to be bias towards the cause they are trying to promote.

Re: Do you believe in God?

The first part is directly from Wikipedia and has nothing to do with the link and the other stuff I posted. I'm sure it's still biased. And I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence we had zero school shootings when prayer was in school and after it was taken out we have had over 200 deaths from school shootings. Am I saying prayer kept the shootings out of school, of course not. Am I saying it had something to do with it, definitely.

Getting rid of Religion will make the country worse. Why do you think the United States was started in the first place?

Re: Do you believe in God?

just because prayer isn't in the schools doesn't mean that children aren't being taught religon outside of school. besides what a couple of shootings when there's plenty of molestation. bet you god or j.c. wasn't preaching that shyt

Re: Do you believe in God?

question - if there is no god then what does it matter if we kill each other, bed each others spouse, molest children, steal, lie, cheat, ect... ?

if there is no heaven or hell then why does it (or anything) matter ?

why is it we humans are the only animals to control (or try anyways) our environment that is around us ?

are you going to tell me man is morally driven...if so...then just look around..

you want facts ? what facts are not biased ?

you want the answer then truly open your hearts and your minds cleared of humanity...

i do not believe in religion - that is an idea of man...
i have searched for the truth in many written books..then realized that these books were written by man...i looked into nature...nowhere do i see a half human half ape walking around...i realized i'm not a very smart animal..that i would never understand life...that the answers were beyond me...i dont know why jc is god's only son, i dont know what happened to adam and eve, i dont know where the ark is, i dont know why there are so many different religions...what i do know and see in every second of every day is that there is a struggle between good and evil (and i strongly believe evil is winning here on earth)...so given that there is good and evil..so must there be a god and a devil....if there is a god and a devil then there must be a difference between now and eternally....i know there is something more to me than a brain (body) and chemical reactions taking place..if that was all there was to me then i might as well start sleeping with sheep...why not - other animals do it to each other and they have no idea that it is wrong...but we humans know differently..why ?

i dont know the answers to any of your questions....nor do i know the answers to any of my questions...and i have a lot of them...i'm not preaching to you or trying to convert you...i am no role model....

but i do have one question for you - are you just a body and chemical reactions (if so are you sleeping with sheep ? - lol) or in your heart do you know you are something more? if you are something more then i would strongly encourage you to study, contemplate, and understand the word "eternal"....

This intrigues me....... why not go with the third option, which is that there is some higher power, but not the one you've been worshipping, and we both burn in hell (me for not believing, you believing in the wrong one)? Why do you assume that whatever you believe in is the 'correct' higher power?

If you would have read the thing I posted about the church of the flying spaghetti monster case you would have seen that the number of pirates on the planet and the increase in global warming also vary directly its proves nothing. Look and that link it will fill you with all sorts of BS just like that.

question - if there is no god then what does it matter if we kill each other, bed each others spouse, molest children, steal, lie, cheat, ect... ?

It only matters based on the facts of the situation and the morals you have come to possess. If you killed someone on the street I wouldnt give a shit. If we kill eachother I wouldnt care because you are coming with me. If we slept with eachothers spouse........depends, are we in seperate or the same room? and I'll need pics of said spouse before I make a call. If you molested a kid.....I'd want to kill you, but it wouldnt affect my way of life. Everyone has stolen something. Everyone lies. Everyone has cheated in one way or another...........are you seeing my point?

It has nothing to do with a god....it has to do with what you believe it the "right" thing to do. It just so happens our government plays a huge part in making us think what that "right" thing is.

if there is no heaven or hell then why does it (or anything) matter ?
It shouldnt matter at all. The fact that people MAKE it matter is ridiculous IMO. Noone knows what happens when we die, because noone has been able to share that experience. Live your life to the fullest.....stop worrying about what happens when the party is over.

why is it we humans are the only animals to control (or try anyways) our environment that is around us ?
Because we are the most intelligently developed creatures on this planet, and because we can. Noone has stood up to us so far.

are you going to tell me man is morally driven...if so...then just look around.
It would seem more logical than the argument you are bringing....there is hard evidence that man does as what he believes is the right thing to do. I dont go around killing people because of a disagreement because I dont believe that is the right thing to do. Other people decided that if people dont agree with their thoughts, or their way of life that they must die for it.....who is it to say that is the wrong way to think? As intelligent as us humans think we are....we are still animals.
you want facts ? what facts are not biased ?
I would love to hear how you think a FACT is biased. Factual information is truth.....how you THINK that truth was derived is where the bias comes in.

Quote:
what i do know and see in every second of every day is that there is a struggle between good and evil (and i strongly believe evil is winning here on earth)...so given that there is good and evil..so must there be a god and a devil....if there is a god and a devil then there must be a difference between now and eternally
No....you BELIEVE there is a struggle between good and evil. Like I said, there is only perception as to what you think good is and what evil is. There is no defining law that separates the two....that is where morals, faith, belief comes in. There is no proof of such a god, or a devil....again with the beliefs. It is religion and faith and equate a higher power to an eternal life. Who is to say that once we die thats it? Lights turn off and noone is home, forever. Is something so simple that hard to believe as a possible outcome?

Quote:
if that was all there was to me then i might as well start sleeping with sheep...why not - other animals do it to each other and they have no idea that it is wrong...but we humans know differently..why ?
Why not? You and I are no better than them....just more intelligent. We do not KNOW differently.....it is so infuriating when people preach what they KNOW, when in fact it is nothing more than a belief.

Quote:

We are mere evolutions of creatures/animals over such a span of time that have come to develop brains, thoughts, emotions, beliefs, etc...and I dont sleep with sheep because we're so smart and invented tempor-pedic beds, I like them better than a pasture. Do I KNOW i am something more than that....not any more than you or anyone else, do I BELIEVE that I am more than that? No.

Re: Do you believe in God?

Yes, really, I am asking this on a forum. This is where I will get the most responses and opinions. You think I should go stand on a street corner and ask ever bystander? I dont..

And Bootylicious, very, very well put.

Re: Do you believe in God?

Funny though...The religion originated in Rome and Roman Catholics preached on street corners and marketplaces trying to convert pagans.

...And now S10forums and Universities...you would think they would change their ways in the past 2000+ years.

...I learned something in Architectural history today.

Re: Do you believe in God?

Pirates and global warming

A chart, included in the open letter, illustrating the relationship between pirates and global temperature

According to Pastafarian beliefs, pirates are "absolute divine beings" and the original Pastafarians.[7] Furthermore, Pastafarians believe that pirates' image as "thieves and outcasts" is misinformation spread by Christian theologians in the Middle Ages and by Hare Krishnas. Instead, Pastafarians believe that they were "peace-loving explorers and spreaders of good will" who distributed candy to small children, adding that modern pirates are in no way similar to "the fun-loving buccaneers from history". In addition, Pastafarians believe that ghost pirates are responsible for all of the mysterious lost ships and planes of the Bermuda Triangle. Pastafarians celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19.[30]
The inclusion of pirates in Pastafarianism was part of Henderson's original letter to the Kansas State Board of Education, in an effort to illustrate that correlation does not imply causation.[31] Henderson presented the argument that "global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct effect of the shrinking numbers of pirates since the 1800s."[7] A chart accompanying the letter (with numbers humorously disordered on the x-axis) shows that as the number of pirates decreased, global temperatures increased. This parodies the suggestion from some religious groups that the high numbers of disasters, famines and wars in the world is due to the lack of respect and worship towards their deity. In 2008, Henderson interpreted the growing pirate activities at the Gulf of Aden as additional support, pointing out that Somalia has "the highest number of Pirates AND the lowest Carbon emissions of any country."[32]

I could also argue that ice cream sales has a direct correlation between people being mugged. The higher number of ice cream sales, the higher number of people that are mugged. It has nothing to do with the fact that ice cream is sold the most in the summer, when people are outside and more likely to be mugged.
