Well the body lift that I can get is originally for a Wrangler and only a 2", and I think I'm gonna need a 3". Not sure if I might buy a kit made for S10s or just make my own pucks and buy longer bolts.

And I'm trying to find a way to get the 33x13.50s, I want them bad! Truck is back in Indiana now and after the heater core and dash are back in it I will be addressing either the body lift or putting it back to being slammed

Re: [ProjecT] Work Truck

I am not sure they made a 3 inch body lift... but they are just poly spacers anyway. You could also always throw a cup kit on your springs to get an extra inch. You would be surprised what an extra inch will get you.... thats what she said.

I have airbags, and they're already aired all the way up. The control arms are maxed out

But yeah... if nobody makes a 3" kit then I'll just make my own

Ya know... I didn't even realize that I never posted that up here. I'm moving back to Indiana because I got a new job back in this area, as did my wife. The renters we had in our house already bought a new house and will be out by the end of the month and then we'll be back in. In the meantime we're living with my in-laws

That was a quick turn-around and living with the in-laws is fun(I'm doing it right now). You not like your last job in Kalamazoo or this job better pay and what not?

Re: [ProjecT] Work Truck

The job in MI wasn't a good fit and even though I really liked the area my wife hated it so she was really motivated to come back to IN. New job is about the same monitarily because it's hourly and I work a bit of overtime every week. But the actual work content and environment is much better IMO, I'm doing 3D design work all day

Ya the wife usually has a lot of pull. That's good that the environment is better and 3D design work is pretty fun. I've done some small gearbox design from concept to manufacture, but am now working on automating some of our dull tasks so I spend a lot of time on Solidworks.

Re: [ProjecT] Work Truck

First, I lowered the rear of the TrailBlazer

Just kidding. I had the Sonoma on a car trailer behind it and it made it squat HARD. Definitely was riding 100% on the bump stops lol

Here's a pic I took of the 33x13.50 Swampers that I really want to buy off my buddy

And I know I mentioned before that I had been working on a friends Colorado for a few weeks, turning his reverse 4link into a nice 6link. Well that got finished and I immediately drove it 2.5 hours to IN and then we loaded up our bikes and drove another 1.5 hours farther south into IN and went riding all day, followed be a 1.5 hour return trip. And in addition to that he thanks me almost every day for how it rides

Here's a pic of the truck the day the link got finished and we went riding:

Here's a few pics I have of the fabrication of the 6link. I have more that are on another phone and another camera lol

(this is Mike [mrroller] doing the welding in this one)

Well, last weekend he was able to take the 18s he got with the truck (that are the wrong offset) and trade straight up for a set of Silverado SS 20s

Switching the wheels in a parking lot in St. Louis lol

Layed Out

Ride Height

I also started my rebuild/conversion on the CR. Not sure if I ever put up in here why it
needs a rebuild, but I crashed at a motocross track a few weekends back and ended up snapping my subframe Also bent up the spark arrester, bent up the seat, and cracked the fender almost all the way off. I was able to use some "minitrucker engineering" at the track and get the pipe to stay on with a screw and some zip ties, but the seat and fender were both still flopping and the side panel was missing but hey... it didn't stop me from still riding

So first, the spark arrestor that caused my subframe to snap from it being so long and also being hard mounted to the rear fender bolt area was all bent up. So I took it apart, realized it's essentially just a silencer with the 'Turbine Core' spark arrestor part tacked onto the end of it. So I cut off the spark arrester end and reassembled it as just a shorty silencer. Free fix and probably less restrictive too

Next up, all my '10 CRF250 parts came in, although he forgot to send the seat So he will be sending that shortly.

I also got a Cycra Stadium front number plate for my birthday that I will be putting on it

Decided to see what it would look like on my cousin's '00 CR80, mainly just because his seat has the perfect red/black color scheme and my CR seat doesn't really fit

The bike looks so tiny with the full size plastics sitting on top of it lol

I bolted the tank into the frame and it fits nearly perfectly Shrouds shouldn't be too hard to line up either Can't test fit everything right now tho because the seat really kinda ties it all together plus it's gonna take a bit to get the stock subframe off the CR due to the top bolt being rounded off But sooner than later the parts will be on my bike

Random pic of subframe/airbox

Lastly, I'm debating selling both the TrailBlazer AND the Explorer, and then using that money to buy a much nicer, newer, lower mileage Explorer that would be Certified Pre-Owned and have a warranty. If I do sell both trucks that would mean I'd put my Big Brake kit for the TB up for sale, as well as potentially selling the On-Board Air kit I have for it as well (although that could always get installed on an Explorer as well as long as I have a 20" or bigger spare tire). I would use all the money from the consolidation to put into getting the Swampers and probably an E-level system for the Sonoma, as well as doing all the body/motor/suspension mods that I want for the Explorer as well.

Give me your input on this, and thanks for reading all my novels all the time!!

I'd be interested in the big brake kit and the SS parts if you still have those too.

The only SS parts I have are a 5th SS 20" wheel (to go in the spare location and facilitate the on-board air kit) and an SS grille and mirrors. I don't really plan to sell any of that stuff tho because it is hard to come by and I do want to get another TB someday sooner than later and put them on that

But yeah, the big brake kit is potentially for sale if I can get the right price. It consists of 14" CTS-V drilled/slotted rotors that are water jetted to have the correct hub bore and bolt pattern, brand new 2011+ HD Silverado/Sierra Akebono rear brake calipers (with hoses & brake pads) modified to work on a GMT360 with the 14" rotors, stock drilled/slotted TrailBlazer rear rotors (12.8"), & rear Hawk HPS pads

PM me with an offer and we can go from there

Re: [ProjecT] Work Truck

Worked on this thing a bit this week. Got the heater core and dash back in it but need to finalize everything and re-connect all the air ride wiring that I had to snip to get the dash out.

Also, for some reason I have a bunch of warning lights on in the dash and some of the gauges are messed up. I'm hoping I don't have a pinched or broken wire anywhere, because it was all perfect before I took it all apart

Re: [ProjecT] Work Truck

Well, worked on the truck for a bit the past 2 nights. Turns out the gauge issues were a plug under the hood that I forgot to reconnect lol I got all the air ride wires reconnected and had everything working perfectly (except that apparently my Optima red top has kicked the bucket ). Unfortunately tho, somehow when I put the drivers side lower dash panels back on it messed something up where now the gauges have illumination but don't work at all, as well as several other electrical things that don't work Not sure if I have a pinched wire or if something is grounding out or what, but I'm going to try to get a new battery and remove the panels to see what I can figure out

same kinda thing happened to me when i pulled my light grey interior and swapped in all charcoal panels and a dash. My dome lights always blow a fuze now and i always use the over ride option. Think I pinched the harness some where when putting the dash back in. I said eff taking the dash out again and just deal with the dark

Well fortunately it was just the lower panels on the drivers side that made the difference. I'm gonna start by removing them and seeing if everything gets back to functioning normally

Re: [ProjecT] Work Truck

Well I spent some time last week pulling the lower dash panels out in an attempt to find the issues and get it fixed. Unfortunately I did not have such luck On top of that my buddy needs it out of his car port now that I am moving back into my house. So Friday I will be attempting to drive it the 15-20 min from his house to mine and hoping I don't lose air since my EDC stopped working, or let it die because the battery is toast and it would require a jump to restart. I just want to get it back to being 100% reliable and layed out on the Stealths so I can tote my bike around with me

I thought that too but couldn't find anything. I think the first step has to be to get a new battery

Just saw this post... thanks Speedy! And you should do it, although a bodylift will be a necessity if you go for 33s that are any decent width

An update for the truck... picked up a tested/used Interstate battery for $43 and will be installing it tonight. I have a rental car at the moment due to the TB being in the shop, so my goal is to get the electrical issues with this thing sorted out and get it put back to slammed by the time I have to give the rental car back, so it's ready to be daily'd and I can do all the finish work on the TB (mount rear bumper, install brakes & suspension, and paint)

Re: [ProjecT] Work Truck

Well, installed the new battery last night and also did some poking around with the electrical issues. The main 50A fuse that powers all the interior wiring was blown, so I luckily had a new one in the glove box and that blew basically as soon as I put it in. Pulled the 60A one out of the ABS spot and tried that and it blew too, so I'm 99% sure I have something grounding out in the interior that once I find and fix should solve all my problems

And it fired right up with the new battery so once this electrical gremlin is figured out I can swap her back to slammed and go back to daily driving it

Re: [ProjecT] Work Truck

So I worked on the truck for a bit Thurs night and then most of Fri night and all morning/early afternoon Sat, swapping all the rear lift stuff for the drop stuff. The plan was to also swap the stock spindles back on but due to running so long on time I chose to just leave the lift spindles on and be ok with it laying about 1/2"-1" shy of the inner fenders. Turns out it was a good idea to leave the lift spindles on because once it was all back together I met up with Brandon (262X02) and we cruised down to the ITS/KOIM get-together where the insane lift/cali that the lift spindles produce seemed to be the star of the event lol. I have some pics of the truck on my camera and there's quite a few on Facebook too... I saved a few of them so you guys can see how it looked

And then a meme that one of the guys made lol

That's awesome, that lift is absolutely nuts! What are you running out back now, still bags over leafs? I have honestly been thinking about setting something like that up on my truck but more as just an overload system.
