Finally getting back to working on this thing. Little back story on truck. Bought it with less then 50k miles on it and stock, Lowered it initially 2/3 western chassis leafs with drop spindles, bout 6 months down the road added 3" blocks and 3" springs. This lasted about a year. Eventually I dropped the front another inch with 195/65r15 tires, and added set back plate with shims. This is how the truck sat for years. Then my wife and I bought a house, the truck would not make it up the driveway. This meant the truck was going to get the front bagged and keep rear how it is. This was almost 3 years ago. I decided I was going to get it finished this month and make it my dd again. As of today the front is bagged, 2 c-450s plumed in to a 5 gallon tank, auto water separator, 5 valves 4 3/8s for the ss7 bags and 1 1/2" for a tank drain. Wired a blazer hatch switch to work as the bag switch along with a toggle switch to turn power on and off to compressors. Truck is at a buddys house so we can finish floor modifications so I can run the 2001 leather eclipse seats I got (need recovered). The seats give me room for days above my head. Once floor is done (after getting welder fixed/new one, welder stays hot constantly.... Leads to horrible times), I will lay some sound deadener down then carpet. I am removing the sanden edc I was going to run to put ac back in it. This also means I going back to stock uppers and not the speedway ones I got. Running proforged tall lowers and proforged uppers. The proforged kit from suicidedoors.com is in route also. Have a cheap cai coming since I don't have the stock air shit anymore. On to some pictures

Re: 03 noma

Didn't get anything done on truck last night, welder still messed up. It is getting dropped of today, then will get floor finished up.

Might hook this up

Modified hood stops to get more clearance (don't mind dirtiness, truck has been parked)

just the engine bay

Air gauge/switch/stubby/dash pad

gonna connect the stock air bag switch and run in the dash. I never turn it off anyways

gonna use fog light switch and connect envoy fogs.

need some new ones or recover

new toys, waiting on the rest to get here

Re: 03 noma

So I actually got some work done on my truck, I went and picked it up from Grants (floors not done, will have to do this weekend). Got it to my house up and jack stands, tires all off and went to town, Looked up at clock and it was 11pm, which that's not bad. Until you figure I'm up at 4am. Got the oil drained, tranny drained (second time iv done it. Once at 50k now at 100k) Replaced wiper blades $3 bosh blades for the win. Drive belt replaced. Old one wasn't horrible but figured do all maintenance. Swapped in the corvette servo, Had it since 2013. Put on all the pro performance steering parts.

Re: 03 noma

To change the servo I had to take the transmission mount out and lower the tranny, the cover kept hitting the tunnel. I'm also debating on swapping to a quick ratio steering gear box.

Re: 03 noma

So I got a little more work done, swapped back to the stock control arms from speedway uppers, swapped the stock intake mani back on. Rewired the big 3, and added a shunt so I can run power wire in truck. Added all the ac components back on. Tried to install cai and it hits can and ac compressor. I might have to run the e-fan I had on it, so that I can get clearance. I didn't get a picture of all of it, but as they say thread is worthless with out pics, so here is the few I did get,

this is some wire I had that I compared to the knukonceptz wire, my wire was bigger so I used that, I will use the knukonceptz wire inside cab for amp.

the corvette servo stiffened up the transmission shifts, going from 1st to second at full throttle will chirp the tires, I find it kinda funny since I'm only a 2.2.

No real big update, got my deck put in, led dome light in, diff oil in. I did drive the truck to work yesterday. Everything worked good, no leaks. This is the first time iv driven it on the highway in years. I forgot how slow the 2.2 is. My daily is a trailblazer so that straight 6 moves compared to the 4.

and just a shot at the miles, not too bad for 13 year old truck
.
Tonight I'm gonna get the front abs wiring fixed, it cut up. Just gonna do some soldering. Get the seats/belts buttoned up. Have to swap the eclipse seat belt buckle changed to the s10 one. My fatmat should be here today.

Well just finished up some work. Got the old speakers out, cleaned the floor, seam sealed floor and sprayed rubberized coating on welded in floor. Got my first layer of fatmat on the floor and 2-3 layers on the door. 2 layers on bottom of inside door and below mirror, then 1 layer on outside. I also ran 2 big pieces on big opening to try and help seal door up. Will finish fatmat tomorrow, along with get the sound foam down on floor

So I only got one thing done yesterday, and that was to install a second battery tray. I need to add a lower bracket to bolt it to the frame. I will get It wired up today if I get off early or tomorrow.
test fitting

Installed

Both batteries, They are just acid filled and I will get me some agm batteries down the road. Batteries are just still good.

Now I got to give credit, I got the idea from a fellow members build.

Re: 03 noma

Did a few things on it over the weekend, Got the truck running on both batteries, cut the amp rack and mounted the amps to it. Will get it covered/painted graphite to match interior, once I finish all the interior wood panels.
Wire needs to be p clamped to the core support fully, but I only had on clamp so I zip tied for now.

With it running both batteries are showing 14.6 volts while running with the 2 compressors on, 4-ways, high beams, and heater on full blast.

nothing too big done, Test fitted a console to see how it fits. It will work for what I need, Also going to more air gauge in to console. installed compressor toggle switch into ash tray instead of just letting it sit in there free.

I think there is another one of those gauges in the shop on the shelf. Don't remember if its dual or single but it matches. Console looks good. Need a factory plastic to start with or start from scratch on the pods?? Can we use that A pillar mount to modify?? Think it may work with some glass.

Re: 03 noma

Well I finally got some work done. Got the router and router jig to the house so I cut the spacers for the components. Test played it last night the treble was making my eyes twitch.
There was a little saw dust

I will go back once the sub box is built and paint the mdf wood graphite to match the panels. There is enough room around the spacer/mount to pull the door panel off, while it fills the space.

This was the only place I could get tweeter with out cutting panels, didn't want to cut one.

and since I had the router out my buddy stopped by so we could cut the hole for his box.

My knuknoceptz 6 ft rca cables. the things are stout

Re: 03 noma

Progress looks good. I picked up some sticks of square tubing to we can do the rear notch on the frame.

Re: 03 noma

So got the dash fully buttoned up last night (first time it has been together in a long time). As I was running the truck last night to charge batteries and fill up air tank, I aired up the front and a got a pop sound out of the speakers when I let go of the switch. That's odd. I hadn't had that before. So apart the dash came, I rechecked all the wiring, made sure that the rca cables weren't touching the wires, checked the ground, tried different 12v supply for switch and still kept getting that pop. So I disconnected the switch and touched the valve wires to direct power and no pop. Looks like I'm going to have to find a different switch. After figuring that out I needed to fill tank back up. turned switch on. Once it filled up I turned the switch off and I got a pop. I think I am going to run a different power wire to the battery isolator and see if I get anymore noise. Right now I have 0 gauge running from the battery to my battery shunt that goes into the cab. I hooked the compressor battery isolator up to the shunt for power. Im just wondering if I'm getting some type of feed back threw the wire when it shuts the isolator off. Will try that tonight and see if that helps.

Re: 03 noma

So running its own power wire didn't work. I'm now thinking its a ground loop. Which is odd, since iv never had one before. I will try getting better grounds. I also didn't get to try much cuz I had to go pick this bad boy up.

It did however have 4 spots like this

Looks like I will be doing some fiberglass. The rear window frame has a little bend I need to fix. I also need to replace the rear side window seals. I actually want a hard tonneau cover but cant find a used one down here. So this is the next best thing.

Re: 03 noma

Suggestion:
Your pop might be eliminated by running the switch to a relay... It may be a high amperage load that's causing it.

Install looks amazing!
Be careful - for a single cab - you have enough juice there to blow your windshield

Re: 03 noma

worked on the c-notch a little last night, we got the pass welded in, Its 1/4" 4" pipe cut in half, welded in on inside and under side, we then boxed in the frame. Once we are done with both will put some weight on it to see how it does, If it moves any we will add more plating to the outside. Its just as thick as a bolt in c notch. We will also go back threw and clean up how it looks and paint it with either paint or I have some rubberized under coating in a can.

Re: 03 noma

So we got both notches in, tested the axel movement. It is centered in the notches. Score. Next on the agenda
1. clean and paint notch
2. Attach e-brake and adjust
3. Front left battery lower mount
4. Place bed on cut blow threw hole.
5. Remove bed, Weld in flat metal to close off where plastic use to be.
6. Rerun/attach Compressors and wiring.
7. Attach bed and tighten.
8. Install accordion boot.
Hope to have all done this weekend.
