Has anyone used one? I would prefer not to but I'm having a hard time finding a good used dash, especially in black. Im sure it looks ok, but going to be light years ahead of my dash thats cracked ten ways to Sunday!
If you decide to do it, certainly post pics. I've heard a lot of talk about them, but never actually seen one (or at least pics of one).
What I did was fill in my cracks with epoxy and spray paint with Rustoleum. The cheap epoxy I used didn't turn out too well. Once it cools off a little, I'm going to dremel the cracks out and fill with painter's caulk, then repaint again with the Rustoleum. The Rustoleum actually turned out great. It's been two years in the Florida sun so far and the dash looks as good as the day I painted it (except the cracks of course).
Never used one, keep us updated though. I will probably end up just removing dash and fixing the cracks...can't remember the youtube video i watched of a guy repairing a Datsun dash (the CORRECT WAY) But eventually that's what i plan to do.
I've seen one for a 2nd gen ranger they do formfit well and cover all the areas that crack and change form. Installation is like using a CA Glue or epoxy and taping the dash pad in place across the dash until fully cured. Stockinteriors sells them and offer SEM paint match .
