1st gen trip odometer inop.

My regular odometer works fine on my 91. But my trip odometer has stopped working. Doesn't want to fully reset to zero miles, and doesn't track the miles going down the road. Is there a fix for this? Are the two odometers separate or are they joined somehow? My Jimmy is a low mile original (>65K), so I'd like to fix what I have, or just swap out the trip odometer, if possible.

Well, replacing the motor mounts brought my trip odometer back to life it seems. It has been working for 2 days now anyway. Maybe the old compressed mounts were putting something in a bind? Not sure how it could affect the trip and not the other as the regular odometer has worked well through the whole time.

Re: 1st gen trip odometer inop.

Well, maybe I didn't know what I was doing before. MY trip odometer was not wanting to reset this past week. I realized I had been trying to reset it with the engine running. Today I filled up my gas tank, and with the engine off pushed the reset button and it worked fine. So, not sure if the engine has to be off to reset the thing, or if it is an intermittent problem with the trip odometer. Regular odometer and speedometer seem to work fine. FWIW, have put about 2500 miles on this vehicle in about 10 weeks.
