Yeah I like the Hades. I had the HAF912 before it came out, but decided to keep the Hades instead. I gave the HAF away.

Did a few minor upgrades a couple weeks ago to my i7 860 setup, swapped it over into the Corsair 650D case and ditched the EVGA 570 in favor of a GTX 580 Lightning:

Re: Post your rig setup

Just built mine winter of '10

Lian Li PC-65 case (bought back in '04)
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (legit)
AMD Phemon II X6 1090T cpu
Zalman cpu cooler
Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H mobo

XFX 1gb Radeon HD 5770 graphics (soon to be 2x xfire)

Haven't done any 3dmark/pcmark on the comp yet but i like the speed. I need to pick up an additional 4 gigs of memory though. 4gb just don't cut it these days Also need to do some wire management to get it looking purty like theonedub. that's a sik setup theonedub!

Looks sick chase. I haven tried a 3dmark test, i usually do a superPi 1M or 32M test

Also max memory on a 32bit system is 4gb, you would have to upgrade to the 64bit windows 7

Re: Post your rig setup

Wire management looks dope theonedub. Its so hard to do w/ a mid tower compared to a full tower.

Thanks guys

I've never owned a full tower case, both the 650D and the case I had before are mid towers. The Corsair is pretty large for a mid, but its much smaller than the 700D and 800D which are full towers.

Here is what is looked like before with my dual card setup in the smaller mid tower, used a ton of zip ties on the opposite side to keep it clean:

Re: Post your rig setup

The i7 has been strong, its going on 2 years now almost and even at a modest 3.5ghz overclock nothing has slowed it down enough to warrant an upgrade. Sometimes I do get tempted just to play with some new stuff.

The board is an EVGA P55 SLI. At the time it was one of the only boards with the dark color scheme which is the look I was going for with the build.

Re: Post your rig setup

The VRM design on MSI boards are pretty weak, most are 4+1 even on some of there midrange boards. Blowing up and burning out is too common.

They do make killer GPUs though, the 580 Lightning is technically my first MSI video card and its built like a rock.

I like Asus boards, I have no complaints with my 785G, had all the slots, connections, room and reliability that I needed, plus I got a good deal on it at the time.

Re: Post your rig setup

I forgot about this thread, we should keep it going or make it a sticky so people can post updates to their rig.

I got rid of the mid-tower a little bit ago and picked up a brand new HAF932 black edition from someone local. Also during winter break from school I overclocked my GTX460.

Running 2 cooler master 200mm 110cfm and 3 xigmatek 120mm 61cfm. I plan on replacing the rear exhaust 120mm w/ a xigmatek 140mm and using the 120mm on my mugen 2 for a push/pull.

System Specs
Cooler Master HAF932 Black Edition
GA-P35-DS3L Rev2.0 F9
E8500 (E0) OC'd @ 4.03Ghz 1.22v
3gb GSkill 6400 OC'd @ 850mhz
ASUS GTX 460- 768mb OC'd (865/1730/1840/.987v)
Cooler Master Real Power Pro 650w
Seagate 320gb
Scythe MUGEN-2
Acer 22" LCD

Sup Chase.

Well probably my next upgrade will be to the new 1155 platform here soon w/ a 2500k. I also really want to sleeve all the psu wires, probably black and blue so you dont see the multiple colors anymore. An SSD will probably be in the mix eventually

Instead of the EVGA i would look at this one. I put the superclocked version of this card in the comp i built for my cousin and its bad ass w/ the dual fans. Plus the heatsink is a lot better w/ the heatpipes.

Re: Post your rig setup

Since my last post here I added another 1tb HDD, changed over to the H100, installed a 2GB GT530 to run [email protected] when I don't want to run my 580, and upgraded to 16gb of RAM (since its so cheap).

As far as looks, I added sleeved cables on the 8pin PCIe cables, 24pin ATX, and 3 pin fan cables on the H100. Also modified the DVD drive so you can't tell its installed- makes the front of the case look a bit cleaner.

Specs for those who want to know:
i7 860 @ 3.51ghz (undervolted)
16gb Corsair DDR3 @ 1600mhz CL9
3TB Total HDD space
EVGA P55 SLI motherboard
MSI GTX 580 Lightning
Nvidia GT 530
Antec 750w True Power New
Corsair 650D case
Corsair Hydro Series H100 Cooler

and a Dell U2414M 24" UltraSharp Monitor

Re: Post your rig setup

Wow, very nice setup.

I really like the Antec 300 and the Hyper 212 cpu cooler, they work great.

Do you have an ssd in that thing? If not you should definitely invest in one.

Re: Post your rig setup

thats on the to do list. the mobo I have has a slot of an mSATA drive, but I would prefer a 2.5" SATA3 drive. Nothing big. Just big enough for my OS and maybe BF3 since that game is what this rig is built for. I also run Prime 95, [email protected], and do my 3D modeling from this PC. And yes the cooler and case both work awesome at keeping my temps down. CPU full load in prime95 only reaches a max of 65C. The GPU's hit about 90C, but thats only when using a stress test. In BF3 I get about 60 fps (vsync on, 80 with it off) on ultra at 1920x1200. I want to get 2 more 27.5" monitors so I can run eyefinity. *drooool*
Total cost on the rig as is, is in the $800 range, but that was spread over the last 3 years. $600 was in the mobo, cpu, GPUs, heatsink, DVD Drive, power supply, and a couple of fans. monitors not included...crap... re-reading that,.. i just realized how much I have in PC crap..... all that and thats not even including my server (in progress) or my HTPC....

Re: Post your rig setup

Nice setup DfntPntbll looks good. I got my 2500k at 4.5ghz also. Its at 1.312v full load in cpu-z. 1.308v is at full load correct? On small fft or blend?

I sold all my old stuff and rebuild it around 3 months ago w/ an ASRock Extreme 3 Gen 3 and 8gb of Gskill Ripjaws X 1600mhz. Pics a little bleached out but everything is black

Re: Post your rig setup

Thanks man and very nice setup yourself. yes, 1.308v full load. I let prim95 run for about 72 hours on each of the 3 settings actually. I also ran kombustor for 48 hours for the video cards. Tweaking and stability testing took about 2 weeks to get it just right. I could get the CPU up to 5GHz on this cooler, but it pushes the temps too high. would take water cooling to work, plus anything after 4.5 isn't noticeable real world. I would recommend getting two more 4GB sticks of matching ram. I noticed a real difference once I got mine in. btw...I want that mobo....soooooo nice. One if two 1155 boards that support true dual x16 pci-e. Perfect for crossfire or sli.

Re: Post your rig setup

Right on so you got it setup on offset mode or fixed? I was thinking about 16gb but i dont even come close to maxing out 8gb so not really worth the extra money for me. Since your doing 3d stuff it will be probably a big benefit for you.

Kombustor is good but you should try Heaven 2.5 for you video card. Its a really good stress test for your graphics cards and much nicer to stare at then a fuzzy msi logo lol

I think all the AMD boards (or most) support dual PCIe x 16 but very few from intel
