Re: post up some pics of your welds.

Some more stainless.
Who needs engraving when you can weld it?

Welded a retainer clip to the 5th gear.....it was on a free T-5 Trans my buddy got for his car. said the 5th gear popped out. took it apart and found the retainer was worn out and there was a chip on the output shaft where the clip broke it off or something....doesnt matter, free transmission, probably will hold up fine. kept the heat real low. gear never got hot to the touch.

Re: post up some pics of your welds.

^ they sure did! I really need to buy some pipe just to practice radius welds.

This wrench was cracked, so i did a little repair for fun.

At work our weld test are a fillet joint and a 6" pipe welded to a flat plate. Being able to do the radius well and having a good attitude are how people get jobs where I work. Spray arc MIG around a radius is a bit more tricky than a simple multi pass fillet joint. Im still having a hard time feeling comfortable around a radius with TIG.

Re: post up some pics of your welds.

^ thing is i dont do it often enough. really i try to get a long bead on the piece, when i should really be doing smaller beads and not try to overextend myself around the corner...

some people at work said the wrench repair was a waste of time. i dont care, free practice and even so, its still a good usable wrench if i were to put a cheater pipe on it in the end it was a Proto wrench so not exactly a "junk" brand.

Re: post up some pics of your welds.

I'm not a frabricator, nor a welder, but I'm having to build a set of ramps for a trailer that I bought. My dad took a lot of welding classes in school many many years ago, so he's attempting to teach me how to weld a little at a time. This is a picture of my second ever bead. It's not exactly pretty, but in my opinion, it isn't as bad as it could have been.

Re: post up some pics of your welds.

made a 1" crows foot for work. kind of a specialty tool because the turnbuckle to tighten the #80 chain has little room around it. I could just buy a regular crows foot, but this way it wont fall off the extension, and i have the 1 1/8" on the other end to tighten the jam nut.

Still kind of new to TIG but here are some link bars I made a while ago.

Spray arc 555 IPM 29.5 Volts 95/5 gas. I need a pic of a few radius welds, anyone can weld a straight line.

Gonna do a little digging here...

Finally bought a welder yesterday, and did a few quick passes.
