fat tire small wheels trend?

ive been seeing alot of s10's recently with wide rear wheels and not so wide front tires and wheels on lowered trucks....most are lowered but the rear tire is almost touching but the front is fine and also it seems the trucks have alittle rack to them...is this a trend? im kinda liking the look so if you got that kinda set up post your pics ...most ive seen have 15 in wheels as well.

Re: fat tire small wheels trend?

guess you could just call it the pro-touring style...

i don't have any pics worth posting, but i'm running an 18x8/9.5 combo on my truck...245/40 in the front, 295/35's in the back. black boss 338's on a black regular cab stepside...

I personally consider huge rims with a rubber-band tire a trend.

Re: fat tire small wheels trend?

i realize i'm posting more staggered 18" setups than i am fat tires...but i just can't help myself

i think your 40 series have convinced me to add a little more sidewall for my back tires whenever the time comes around in the spring or early summer, when i put new tires on. and i'm definately going with g-force's...chris' blazer pics made me go mmm, outloud. haha.

This is the only skinny tire I've had on the front due to a moster pot hole! 315's on the back, normally a 275 on the front but on that day a 225/60/15 on the front. the spare had never been used before this day.

Re: fat tire small wheels trend?

Big and littles on 15"s used to be common on hotrods. Of course that was back when they were rear wheel drive, went straight, and no 16"+ wheels. Would get 2" rake (axle to axle) just putting 26" tall skinnies up front and 30" tall fatties out back (the go end). Swapping in a bigger engine would drop front even more if not changing the springs. Rear often got lifted and/or tubbed for the big fat fatties. Some had 14"s front and/or after 16"s came out en mass they might be out back. Skinnies could be as little as 4" wide and fatties as much as 15" wide but mostly at the drag strip. There's not any really specific sizes though.

To me them wheels with no rubber (almost) are the new trend. Guess I'm just old.

It has a single cab, cause one cab is enough.
