S10 Fuel Injector types

Does anyone know how important matching the serial numbers on a set of injectors is? I have an S10 that I put used injectors in not paying attention to the serial numbers. Ever since it runs rich. I got a new set of injectors, but only two out of the four worked. So right now I've got injectors with at least three different serial numbers on them. I read somewhere that, when replacing injectors on an S10, it's very important to match the serial numbers due to the different flow rates. Can someone please tell me if this is true or not?

Not sure there are serial numbers, but I would match part numbers... I don't think you would want to mix flex and non-flex injectors together for instance, if that's even possible. Never had to change any of mine.

WANTED: 98+ radio delete panel.
Looking for a 94-95 2.2L 5-speed Extended cab, preferably white.

It's a 1996 2.2L VIN 4. Is the part no. the number that's printed on the injector itself?

Re: S10 Fuel Injector types

Have you put a scanner on the truck and read all the PID's?

Yes, I've got a scanner that can read and record live data. I get code P0172(System too rich bank 1) all the time, and P0108 (Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor circuit high)and P01441(EVAP EMISSIONS SYSTEM FLOW DURING NON-PURGE). I read that P0108 can be caused by excessive cranking(which happens all the time due to the rich-running condition).

Re: S10 Fuel Injector types

Put a purge valve on it. If itís getting a purge during non purge the valve is stuck open, and itís sucking fuel from the evap system. I have a couple of those valves too, lol.

I really need to put these things on eBay. Since S10warehouse doesnít even sell S10 parts anymore Iím the closest thing to what they used to be stock wise

Yeah, it does seem like a likely cause. The purge solenoid itself tested out good, so I'm going to check the eecs system again first. Do you have good purge solenoids? What would you charge to get one to me here in San Diego, California? ZIP is 92102 - 2428.
