Re: ok so my brain IS FRIED!

Looks like you got the wrong backspacing on the rims. I wouldn't even think about touching the control arms. You need to get rims with the right backspacing.

You arn't running spacers by chance are you?

Re: ok so my brain IS FRIED!

no Im not running spacers at all. we got them as close to s10 as possible, but they way they are built are crazy and I dont want to get rid of them because I really like the looks of them. is there a chance I can have my rotors, and the rims milled a bit to work with my truck? otherwise could I use control arms to accomplish what I want?

thanks

Re: ok so my brain IS FRIED!

I've never heard of any machine work that could be done. And control arms arn't going to solve the problem. The problem is the backspacing is wrong.

if you make the upper arm short and the lower long. it will pull negative camber an pull it away from the fender as you lay out.

Re: ok so my brain IS FRIED!

do you have tires on them yet? are they steel? you might be able to mill the mounting surface of the wheel but it reallly depends on the manufacturer and how thick they are now. that ball joint spacer is def going to screw with the geometry and give em more neg camber, but i dont know if itll be enough and i dont think itll work, the ball joint will bind before the truck lays out..

spindles push your wheel out 1/2"
get rid of the spindles and mod some factory arms or get some tubulars to lay out

You don't just start throwing shims in there. That messes with the alignment causing tire wear and pulling.

I wonder what that dodge looks like aired up? How much change in camber can you get when its that negative when dropped.

Of course the suspension is going to change geometry when going up and down but what about his ride height. Pulling and adding shims to get it camber and sit flat on the ground is going to be pointless if when aired up you can't even drive the thing because it pulls hard or eats tires like a sumbitch.

You can't just pull and add equally. In order for the truck to not pull to one side most of the time you have unequal sides anyway inorder to compensate for road crown and so on and so forth.

I still say get the right wheels, machine the ones you got if it can be done or do what that one guy said of getting tubular control arms that will lay on 20s with stock spindles to suck the wheel in 1/2''.

you do know you get an alignment after you bag a truck? Just put the truck at ? psi and have it aligned to camber correctly

Yea, but once the aligment has been done you could be right back where you started because there isn't enough negative camber to lay it out.

you guys are just making stuff up, you cant just add a bunch of shims to the upper control arm..sure itll pull it in but itll be cambered all the time, killing your tires in no time.

the new arms wont pull the tires in at all..as for the spindles, most run drop spindles because theyre tryin to lay out.
