Running RICH and white smoke from exhaust.. HELP!???

My 1993 s10 2.8 is my only vehicle. And just recently, it started rough starting and running rich. Today, it got progressively worse. The thing runs RICH as **** and smokes white from the exhaust. I don't believe its coolant as it smells like gas and the oil is NOT milky. I sprayed my MAP connections with compressed air. The CTS (coolant temperature sensor) isn't working and the gauge always reads cold. Could this cause the engine to trick itself into running rich because it thinks the engine is cold? This seems to be a common issue and all replies say it's coolant and a head gasket when every OP(including me) thinks otherwise. P.S I just flushed my radiator, if that matters. The truck is HARD to start sometimes when cold and floods alot. WHAT in the **** could this be? Any help appreciated and this is urgent!!! -Josh

Sounds like coolant to me...Blue smoke=oil.....black smoke=gas.....white smoke=water/coolant

you have two temp sensors- one for the computer and one for the gauge- they do not cross talk- you can try your CTS first - that wiil cause a rich condition if fubar- the temp "switch" is for your gauge- on side of block- first things first- make sure they are both hooked up.
